why wouldnt you use a filter thats tuned to your liking?
is your immersion based on seeing multiple cracked sash O_O

You donât hide all whites or blues, so that is incorrect. People will always need bases and there are items such a 30frw blue tiaras.
I would be down for shortening item names on drops so its not hard to search through
Axe, i really invite you to step outside your comfort zone on this one. im pretty comfortable and familar with loot filters. Wanna take 15 mins, and i can hop on twitch (i started last year and i have 12 followers, i am not a real streamer lmao) and I can show you just how minimal a loot filter can be.
noones asking for an unchecked loot filter thats obnoxious, but I can show you what people have in mind â Im willing to bet this might make you more open to the subject?
Hi artpop. Tiaras, Gloves, and a couple items are always nice!
So id do something like
ItemDisplay[MAG EQ7]: + %NAME% +
What this would do, is basically turn
corona
into
Preformatted text
* Corona *
It really just makes it more visually appearing, additionally, you can choose to just hide all cracked and inferior items.
ItemDisplay[INF]:
Now inferior items just dont show
This is kinda how I feel too.
If people are against personal loot, I find it super weird to be for a loot filterâŚisnât the argument that picking up items super fast by clicking is a super gosu skill that only the most superior possess? arenât we then, by that logic, making the game âEZ modeâ by allowing filtering and not seeing items.
Honestly, I see those two ideas to be a contrast that are bordering on hypocritical.
i love how everyone is acting like a loot filter is going to make it so much more convenient when they havenât even played the game yet. D2R has auto-gold. Eliminating 100% of gold from the screen by running near it pretty much negates the majority of the benefit you WOULDâVE gotten from a loot filter. Itâs not that a loot filter is game breaking/ruining, its just literally not going to benefit anyone much so you arenât going to convince the devs based on the current flimsy arguments.
âadd this to make it easier, add that to make it easierâ , just stop. Its a 20 year old remaster. Wait for mods or play a different game.
Lolol okay by your logic then there shouldnât even be a shared stash or auto gold pickup. People could just wait for mods for those. Stop saying to just wait for mods when people want to play on bnet with more QoL improvements. If youâre not against them, then why are you making arguments against loot filter?
Eliminating gold from the screen is nice, but thatâs not enough to make looting feel good, especially not on console.
Clicking items fast isnât really a skill. Iâm not against a personal loot option fyi. It would have to be done like PoEâs loot systems though, not D3âs.
These are a little different. Consoles make auto gold a near necessity. If the devs didnât plan on releasing for console, Iâd be perfectly fine without auto-goldâŚitâs a non-issue for me. Shared stash is there because I donât think the coding will allow game-states to remain open for 5-30 minutes as they are now in Bnet1.0. Itâs more of a necessity. Itâs why I am so shocked they are planning not to give ClassicD2 a shared stashâŚit just makes sense based on what I know about Bnet2.0.
I know, your position isnât hypocritical. There are many people who are against p loot but want filters to hide items. I find this to be an absurd idea.
Yeah, thatâs a big part of it. TwkD, thatâs a really nice offer and I appreciate it, but I think we probably have a deeply different preference here. You joke about the cracked sash, but I actually donât want that label to disappear forever. Iâd rather not see asterisks or different colors for certain gear - I find the way loot drops in D2 to be full of charm by itself. Call me crazy, but I really dig the aesthetic of classic D2âs loot mechanics. And that includes the stuff weâll never use.
Itâs also because of Geezerâs point about altering the basic difficulty. Loot filters for private games, SURE! But not public games, please â then theyâll be mandatory, and I really donât want to use them.
And as BillyMays has said a few times, the text mess is going to be seriously mitigated by autogold.
Probably against a loot filter, but not a big deal for me either way.
I use the loot filter in Path of Exile and while itâs nice there is something⌠it takes away. Just another one of those things itâs hard to put your finger on exactly. I donât know if itâs because it makes things just a tiny bit easier, or what.
Sometimes itâs the little annoying things we have to deal with that makes something else more rewarding. This is true in real life, too. Simplifying things always seems good but in my opinion it doesnât always turn out that way. Sometimes even video games need to be hard work⌠or just a little bit of work, in this case. I know a lot of people would disagree with that, but thatâs how I feel.
Yeah thats the point. Why you should see them if you dont want to. I dont think its issue with blue and White items anyway.
Its badicly issue only with âtrashâ items like bolts, gold, throwing options, potionsâŚ
It happens often that if you open special chest with several other players in game, there is do many items that you dont see some names of items on screen if you alt tab. Thats why loot filters would help.
But i think just auto gold pick up will help a lot with this issue, so we wont probably need loot filters that much with it.
A simple filter
Potions
Scroll
Arrows
90% of trash is potions, scroll and arrows
Ah, a good idea is book with 40-60 portal or id
Loot filters are amazing and make the game feel very fresh and much more enjoyable really hope they allow them, going back to diablo 2 and seeing the sea of white useless items so much so you cant even see half the items that have dropped no matter how you move the camera that along with no item drop notification makes it even worse, being able to hide white useless items change color of runes and gems which are also white for some reason would be great, being able to see how many sockets an item has or if its eth with out having to pickup every grey item you see would also be good.
Agreed they need to include loot filter options in D2R!
I just start playing D2 after 15 years again (Project Diablo 2) and the loot filters are AMAZING! It increases the quality of life/fun so much!
Yep, I guarantee without loot filters, you will see new players leaving super-rare stuff like JMODs on the ground just because theyâre blues. But maybe thatâs just part of the game, to learn whatâs valuable and loot filters kind of short circuit that gradual gaining of knowledge.
And as far as developer time, Iâd rather see them do their best on eliminating botting but sure if they have time to spare, I wouldnât mind loot filters.
It will happens also with loot filters anyway btw. New player have no clue he would have to set loot filter to show few magic item types.
If the loot was instanced, loot filters are fine to hide unwanted loot. If loot is FFA, loot filters are BAD and will give an unfair advantage.
