The Unique Upgrade recipe that Diablo 2 deserves

D2r True Unique upgrade Concept

reminder that it only takes small changes to a single .txt and the game’s longevity, replayability, diversity, economy, etc becomes exponentially better

Remember folks this is sekscalibure. Another player who should be friends with Turlok, Bravata and Clayclown so these nerds can play d2r with each other.

…. This looks like it would get out of control really fast, and lead to 200 different difficulties like diablo 3.

That’s a no from me unfortunately. Kind of a cool idea but this is for another game, not diablo 2

How is that even relevant?

Why the hell you are talking about difficulties when the topic is about making normal uniques hell viable lol

A topic about horizontal progression and you bring up vertical one…

I just watched the video, my guy. It was only 30ish seconds so it’s all I have to work with.

if a Cathans staff can have +4 to fire skills, imagine what actual good equipment will end up looking like. Deaths fathom +9 to sorceress skills.
Arreats face +6 to combats + 8 to barbarian skills.

Hell difficulty will feel like nightmare in no time with upgrades like this. Then people will call for additional difficulties

Don’t bother with the  Sekscalibure/Anu, he’s hellbent on thinking that making the game easier will somehow make it better. He’s also claimed the changes that came to the game are somehow “his idea” or were derived from/inspired by his ideas. A genuine nutcase.

If we had tcp/ip, they could actually do that. just sayin blizzard. you wanna get rid of their annoying comments/suggestions, reimplement tcp/ip

Oooooh omg a staff with +4 fire skills… so Op

Meanwhile you have staff that grant 5 all skill, 1h weapon that grant 6 to specific skill, weapon shield combo that grant 5 all skills, leaf giving 3 fire+ staffmods

So OP 4 fire skill on a 2hander

Also, pretty dumb to bring death fathom in the conversation as it cannot be upgraded through upgrade recipe

Finally, it takes a special kind of frustrated to see a demo of a mechanic and bash the placeholder result rather than the concept of the mechanic itself

people already do that. and i bet their characters wouldn’t be able to farm furnace of pain too easily :stuck_out_tongue:

People don’t seem to have the brain capacity to understand that if you upgrade crappy uniques and set while keeping their power under or equal the power of the very best items, you don’t make the game easier as the players power potential remains the same

You just create more potential builds

( example: I made it so when you upgrade Kinemil’s Awl, it turns the +holy fire into a oskill, which allows you to make a new build out of this by dual wielding them on a barb and double swing)

And greatly improve the game by giving it better itemization and a unique sink… god forbid making the game better while keeping it authentic
