The reason why higher drop rates will follow after personal loot

Yes but this is not where the flaw in your logic resides. You’re right that there will always be complaints no matter what Blizzard does, and your own posts are certainly proof enough of that.

While I think basing an argument on a prediction that something will “feel bad” is subjective and inherently flawed, for the purposes of discussion I will grant that people will complain about not seeing any items drop if personal loot is implemented. What is NOT given is that Blizzard will increase drop rates to placate those people. That’s simply speculation on your part, and where your argument breaks down. Like someone else pointed out, you’re stuck in the “slippery slope” logical fallacy. You keep insisting that people refute an argument that is based on conjecture. No one needs to refute it because it’s not based in fact. It refutes itself. And that’s without even getting into your statistical doomsday hyperboles. (“OMG 100s of runs without seeing loot! The horror!” Please…)

For the record, I think that there are flaws in the arguments on both sides of this ongoing debate, mainly for similar reasons in that both sides are engaging in speculation about what will happen if p-loot is or is not implemented. For example, p-loot will not turn D2R into D3 (an absolutely ridiculous assertion). Conversely FFA loot will not grossly alienate the modern gaming world (equally ridiculous).

While I’m sure Blizzard is weighing their options, my personal prediction is that the loot system will remain unchanged (i.e. FFA is here to stay). Either way though, civilization will not come crashing to a halt.
