The only reason why people want /players 8

so basically you are just asking for them to increase drop rates but not fix the problem of people hijacking games. I truly hope they don’t do this.

another misguided noob who doesnt understand how the system works. did you ever hear the message "“xxx player has entered your game and the monsters become stronger.” or “xxx player leaves your game and the monsters become weaker”. it takes a lot of effort for one player to beat monsters with 8 players in the game alone. i know because i have dragged 7 noobs through baal runs so many times. players like you probably

also the 2.3 patch refers to offline play. you can even use the cheat keys in offline play. so who cares? i just played offline a little to get the grasp of how this game was played again and have no long term plans of playing offline no matter what changes blizzard makes to it.

Oh I see; I prefer them stick with the design intention/historical method of playing the game since its a remaster. Game hijacking is solved adding a password, drops/difficulty is not.

I respect your opinion  Time will tell to see what they do!

imagine how mad the lazy and bad players would be if blizzard introduced /players8 but still gave even more drops to people playing with other players.

“well you single player people pretending to want multiplayer can now have your 8man drops, but now people grouped up will see even more drops as if they were 11 or 14 or 16 man games”

“wow this is so unfair blizzard”

I think it’s more along the lines of players want smaller groups to also be efficient/worth the time to farm in game. Right now you’re at a huge disadvantage farming in a game with just 1-2 friends. You talk about effort, but there’s not much effort in discord groups simply following each other around like zombies. Right now the game caters towards discord groups to keep 7+ player games seamlessly moving along. People by themselves have a hell of a time finding near full games that last more than 4min due to limited lobby game listings.

My idea for a better solution is merely locking the game at whatever player number is reached. That way people who like to take their time and farm more areas are free to do so. Currently the game has an ADD design in the fact that games are full for a grand total of 4-5mins then everyone leaves. It’s kind of a silly design in 2021. Realistically those exp/mf gains should be locked once you achieve a certain # of players in the game itself.

In other words remove the “Diablo’s minions weaken” part of the design. Games will last longer and players will stop griefing questing games as often. Probably the best option so that botters aren’t solo maximizing their drops with a players command in MP. That or make players command unlock with 3 players so that groups of 3+ friends can have fun and not feel like they’re getting shafted on drops.

Would still require 100’s of hours farming now harder content.

Weird definition of 0 effort.

Can you explain to me how it takes effort to buy seven other accounts and then multi-box? Also can you explain how it takes effort to be a streamer and simply say “okay people join this game”

/player 8 has always existed for any one player on bnet in a pay to win fashion. What’s being requested is for that to be streamlined and free.

So you’re multiboxing, why? You have /players 8 available right here, in single player.

Again, all I’m seeing here is a bunch of comments from people that a) don’t want to play with other people and b) want all the rewards as if they did.

Just play single player. Nobody is stopping you there and you don’t have to change the online game just because you (weirdly) want to play alone in the online version of the game.

It’s fixed by playing single player and getting an increased drop mod if you’re that impatient. I don’t understand why this is so hard to understand.

What’s the point of trading then if everybody gets increased drops? Your second argument also makes no sense. If you’re so disappointed in how “EZ mode” hell is, then let’s make an even harder mode instead of destroying the economy by allowing single-player features in multiplayer.

Hell, how about this: remove some items. Instant hard mode in Hell!

So far, I haven’t seen a single known veteran say that players 8 is a good idea. They all say what I’m saying: if you don’t want to play with other people, or if you’re going to hijack games to play solo, then go play single player.

A drop of ppl8 of pub is a hell already. It’s only trash to advantage.

I am a known veteran. I would like the option for player8 on battlenet.

or c) People that were pretty fine with TCP-IP to play just with friends and now need participate in the online/competitive/p2w loot BS to enjoy the game.

I don’t disagree.

This was my argument for those that say player 8 is a good idea because It’s unfair/toxic to have open games hijacked.

and u played like 10 hours of d2 your entire life and like 204324392432 hours on the forums

No! player 8 provides extra challenge to the game, you have all this godly gear that have very little impact because the game can be cleared by half naked level 60s.

what planet do you live on? are you not seeing the bots in the lobby chat? are u even aware that every item in the game is available to be bought on said websites listed the lobby chat and every other website?

you know that bots are just 8 player mf’ing their own games right? you dont run 1 bot, you run 8 of them over 8 accounts, all of them are programmed to join 1 pre-assigned named game almost simultaneously, bumping up the game’s count to players 8 by default. Then each bot (w/ a class-build designated for a different area such as act bosses & other areas) does their respective area within 2-3 min (baal being the only 1 with an artificially extended timer due to the rp waves in the throne room). And then they do it again because it’s been over 2min…

“bots arent a thing”…seriously how far in the sand is your head? If you mean to say DUPING is not a thing, that’s much more true, bot are def even MORE prevalent now - lobby chat is proof enough of this just open you eyes man! they are just more sophisticated as well and dont need to crash public games cause modern cpu’s can run multiple bots over several accounts and just multi-box them in private games.

seriously a head scratcher where you come up with this horse$hit…

and why is it hard for you to understand that singleplayer progression does not translate to online progressions and ppl want online progression because only with their online characters can they play BOTH multiplayer (xp gains and engaging with other players) AND single player (progressing at their own pace, keeping your own rewards, wanting to play solo) while retaining progression on 1 character - which makes ALL the difference.

Your offline progression does not translate to online progression so its nothing but wasted time when you want to play with others after having put time into your offline character (no LAN remember?) - which is WHY ppl want to progress their online characters primarily…why is this difficult to understand?

in fact why the hell would i want to play single player unless your internet connection is bad and i want to play hardcore or unless u want to modify data files for testing mostly?

sp isnt an answer for online progression, what idiot thinks this is adequate?

If by effort you mean mindlessly wasting thousands of hours of our lives doing the same monotonous thing over and over again… then yeah, piss off with that… the game is already boring the piss out of every one and it’s been out for 2 months.

Most of us have a full time job and responsibilities now… We’re not 15 year old kids anymore, drinking mountain dew and eating bags of Doritos pulling all night bingers stinking like a bag of farts for 3 days trying to get a slot machine to pay out… Live in reality there bud, no one has time for that level of commitment to a video game, you’re a damn ignorant fool for thinking so.

We want the /players command online so we can at least increase our odds ever so slightly… It doesn’t even effect the drops THAT much… it’s more of a placebo really… it’ll just make us feel better about wasting the time farming.

Also, if you’re playing solo on P3 it will exponentially increase the amount of time it takes to kill the mobs, just with a slightly higher chance at better drops. It’s more for people who have to play in short stints as opposed to 5 - 8 hour sessions or people who only play in P2 but want the P3 drop rates… simple as that really.

No lifers can still take advantage of this system as well, just in case you feel like you’re being cheated out of having an advantage. They can play in smaller groups of 3 or 4 players on /P7 and there ya go… it’s all equal.

Arguments against this idea are the reason why society is being held back… It makes no sense to NOT have the option… if it’s an option it means it can or can’t be used, use your own discretion… why gate keep like that? The economy is already bottoms up any way… In 3 months this game is going to be a ghost town and HR’s are going to be worth pennies.

Might as well give people a reason to keep playing it even if it’s just all B.S.

For the 100th time, people already get players 8 by split MF games and by multiboxing. Players 8 is more difficult despite what some brain damaged member of the community thinks and hence it should get more rewards, that’s the whole damn point.

The people against this change never produce any substantial arguments, just spout off nonsense like “go play single player”.

If I’m not mistaken multiboxing is against teh ToS. But it also means you have to buy 8 copies of the game linked to 8 bnet accounts, not really easy to do.

And teh argument of people wanting /players 8 online is “I want to plkay solo in multiplayer environment”, son’t see how that’s better.

nothing wrong with wanting to play solo on an online game though.
