The game freezes for 5 seconds! CPU usage jumps to 100% SEASON 10! Windows 11 24h2 cause this problem!

Either reapply the paste and/or get a genuine Grizzly Kryonaut as i’ve said 8 out of 10 sellers sell counterfiets ( fakes / 8 z 10 tych past to podróby z termiką koca bawełnianego) so if it’s possible please try a different batch, or if you’re tiered with all the headache it causes igve your pc to a dedicated service like i did… ( like i said I used to build my rigs from the ground up and maintain each one, i do it for over 20 years now, and even i gave up, there’s simply too big lotery on wether you get a genuine or a fake… this damn Grizzly monopoly does anger me as well there are tons of other equally good products out there, yet no one ships them to our country bcause everyone just uses this grizzly paste anyways…

I experience the same issue. Game freezes and if I click something else the PC freezes and needs hard reset. The game is unplayable as this happens frequently and eventually I die and loose a lot of experience. This started to happen after the Ladder reset.

Updating the videocard driver did not fix the issue.
Reducing and turning off almost everything for the video settings did not fix the issue.
@Blizzard you need to find the issue and make a hotfix as soon as possible…

That’s fine, so we can rule out a heat and / or assembly problem. What’d i do next?

Next i’d try to close EVERYTHING ELSE down while playing the game, including the Launcher and all background stuff. Also i’d try running the game with a different / new user profile to make sure the problem is NOT within my regular login profile.

IF the problem persists i’d do a complete and thorough system check. After making the experience that both RAM and SSD’s can develop errors and even die over time i’d start with a RAM test and a disc test for weak / bad areas with “mdsched” and “chkdsk /F /R”. Once certain that hardware is OK i’d do an OS image repair with “dism /online /cleanup-image /RestoreHealth” and “sfc /scannow”.

To rule out game file errors repair it with the Launcher’s “Scan and Repair” option.

I am still investigating the issue and even the old graphic design has this problem, let blizzard fix it because I don’t want to ruin my computer because of it… so I’m not alone with this problem, let’s wait for some response from Blizzard and hope for a quick patch…

Whether or not he needs a hardware upgrade, he’s not wrong.
This is the only season where i’m getting alot of lockups constant freezes and large fps drops

. These idiots need to stop messing with the basic hardware requirements of the game.

They already pushed up the minimum required ram for the game without telling anyone over a year ago, now you can’t run 4 accounts smoothly with 32gb of ram when 2-3 years ago you could.

So this is how they want to fight botters? Unfortunately, they ruined the game because of it, this problem was two years ago and it’s happening again. Now, even when I log into battlenet in the game, I have permanent freeze and I have to reset my computer. I’m tired of this, I’m waiting for the problem to be patched…

Well then you’ll be waiting a very very long time… and it won’t fix a possible locel problem.

Blizzard replied to the thicket and they are already dealing with the problem and you stop trolling here that it is a local problem because if you did not see the people I wrote above that have the same problem. You are not helping at all and you are only annoying me more, shut your mouth. If I knew how to block you, I would have done it long ago.

I asked a friend who is currently playing d2r and he says he has the same problem.

So you face this problem online, offline and when entering the game / a different map. This basically screams game file / file system damage or disc problem but who i am to tell you …

Now what Blizzard COULD actually fix are these damn authentication problems when connecting to EU and US servers. They got really annoying over the last few weeks.

Game definitely freezes now since start of new season.
Total lockup, can be in the lobby even.
Running game in old gfx doesn’t prevent lockup.

Thanks for the reply, now we know that this is a global problem, a game problem not my computer. I have stopped playing now because I don’t want to damage my computer, we have to wait for a patch.

Think blizzard can’t spare more than the one intern who introduced the problem so you’ll probably be waiting for a while

I’ve noticed on old gfx that my FPS drops a huge amount when this happens.

Same issue here am Hc player died 2 times on chars 85+. Game freeze’s for few secounds sometimes it comming back and sometimes only hard pc reset works cause everything is just frozen game is unplayable at this state . I updated drivers and reinstal the game. Didnt help

so its defenetly the not the hardware issue . Am done with s10 just waste of time lovely comming back after break to d2 and waste few days of grind cause of non my fault Rips… its never happend in previous seasons . Sadeg

EDIT . I want to play so bad that am doing full pc format. I give it one last try . Will keep u updated if thats not gonna help, I’ll give up until fix or even longer cause that is ridiculous

So now thanks to your answers I know it’s a game and blizzard problem. I’m waiting for a patch and I’m not playing anymore because it’s a waste of my time.

so far format works for me didnt had single freeze whole day. Tomorow will get logged 2 acc same time will see . Main + BO but i see improvement already. If it dont freeze on 2x acc for few hours might be the solution. Maybe some drivers or registery files got miscomunication between them. Will update soon

To offer a bit more transparency into how these reports are processed, here’s what our Quality Assurance team does with them upon receiving:

  1. QA team gets bug report and tests to replicate the bug, attempting to pinpoint the source;
  2. When QA team replicates the bug effectively it is sent to the Development team;
  3. Dev team gets report of bug and source then work on resolving the conflict in the code;
  4. Dev sends back to QA to test the fix;
  5. QA weighs the bug’s detrimental effect on the world if fixed or not fixed (for example, will the fix actually cause more problems in game than not being fixed);
  6. QA sends their decision to development;
  7. Development creates a patch or hotfix for the issue and releases to the community;
  8. Players download the hotfix/patch.

I will only add here that removing the latest windowas update 11 has improved performance for people, but i am on windows 10, and don’t have the latest windows 11 update for obvious reasons. I tried removing the security update, but the issue still persists.

I removed the last Windows 11 update and it didn’t help too.

format helped even 3 acc logged didnt had single freeze so i guess it helps gl boys hope u solve it
