Tell me, what can we realistically expect from the next D2R update?

Posts like this make me wish this forum had downvote count. All those mods can burn in hell. Turn on a stream so we can watch you play  otherwise move to the next game, clearly it is a you problem not a game problem. I got to hell many times as an 11 year old playing this game in 2001, now this is 2025 where the game has many items that make it a cakewalk and you still need changes…

Put everything into vita, huh, I have never poured entirely into vita unless it is a fully buiilt PvP character…a progressing character clearly needs balance to be able to wear future heavier gear, some classes can even use some points into energy for either things like energy shield or classes like necros can benefit from more mana. One HUGE QoL that later versions of d2 and what d2r inherited is ability to respec which was not available when I was 11. Makes it easy to experiment or be able to manage attributes without being perfect.

The way OP makes it sound, us hardcore players should be unable to play the game over softcore folks but yet here we are.

I don’t think a downvote would cut it if your intention is to discredit me.

Has nothing to do with discrediting you. 99.999% of players here agree with me, those mods are trash and are not d2, this was the case years before you decided to hop on here. Just look at past similar threads, all devolve into trashing on those mods.

If almost everyone agrees with you, then you don’t have anything to be afraid of.

What part of this is fear? Being afraid is why you aren’t in hell!

Doggo… first fix up your top post…its way too vague…we have no idea what your seeking exactly…is it unwanted mods or maybe a high in demand mod ?..specify them otherwise ppl are gonna be incline to think you want unwanted mods in

purist will alway be purist though so…they be againts all changes…but for non-purist…depending on weither the suggestion sound good or bad they will either welcome it or be againts it

Guitar
in regard to downsvote system there a reason as to why it was removed…when ppl feel angry they have a highter tendency to abuse the system and use multi-acc to downvote

this is also true for the “like” system but in a different way…ppl will mass upvote to net attention…just for—> look at me ! look at me ! i’am all important

the only way to make a upvote//downvote system reliable is trough a official dev poll for ALL player to vote…even a mass upvoter/downvoter can’t rly fight 100k+ players on a poll system made by a dev…an official poll will garner more attention as its the devs themselve offering players a choice and not an unlikely to happen thing from a random player poll

so ya…upvotes//downvotes are terrible systems on a forum

I was actually more interested in hearing your opinions, hence the question in the title.

My suggestions are vague because I didn’t want to upset players who have invested a lot of time in D2 recently, but somehow, I ended up doing the opposite. I guess I could improve the starting post a little, but it’s good practice to read a few posts before answering a thread. And being the ethical dog I am, I’ll leave the first post untouched.

You played in totally different game.

OG D2 was harder than the remaster…so thats irrelevant
bugged Vipers in Nilathak map
100% Mana burn from mana burn mobs
Eth Armor getting 50% extra base def when giving them sockets with cube formula
no TZ to farm gear/exp

remaster is mostly wearing a shiny coat with bugs fixes

No in 2001 year, game was totally different pre syn patch mod.

Dude, I have played consistently every year since 2001. It may not be the same, but it was easier in many ways and the experience is 99.9999999% the SAME. I still have all my original CDs which include a couple copies of bootleg d2 from the middle east which are locked to old pre synergy patches, I pulled them out a few years ago, it is same experience…

I still play 1.00 and 1.06 occasionally, its different game gameplay is slow and feel more as ARPG instead of H&S and biggest difference is pre LoD CL is just hunting game based on rares, while LoD is just crafting game and 1.10 is just official mod for the game.

Hmm… How were you able to post an image with a 20 hour old account? That’s something that trust level 3 should only be able to do.

These are differences a veteran understands dude, not a noob like OP which this thread is about. I would bet my entire year’s salary that OP would not be able to progress past NM no matter what patch you turn on. Who cares what your beliefs are about the modern patches, this aint the place and no matter what patch, the game has always required proper attribute and skill management (in many ways more so in the past since we had no respecs), proper potion and inventory management and consistently finding better gear to equip. OP’s level 43 amazon with full vita using a 2 handed sword and spending 1 skill point in each skill available to him is not going to do anything in patch 1.00 or patch 28373.29383

well i’am no classic player but i know that back then they didn’t have synergies on the skills…with that said i didn’t think 2001 was THAT far back…so if my guess is correct thats still way harder than LoD ever was(post and pre-remaster)…if Guitar experienced classic first hand then his words are more credible than mine about that era as i have no experience for classic

Darkjedi: wondering the same…how did he post an image without the forum trust level ? how did he bypass it ? devs secret route ? hacks ? or a hole in the system thats unintended ?

When the class “avatar” is added as an attribute to an HTML image tag, it tricks the system. (This can be considered misuse, so it’s not advisable to do so.)

Optimist case: Nothing
Probable case: Download a patch that breaks the game, requiring players to wait for the patch that fixes the first patch, and reset their settings.
Edge case: Content update no one wanted that ruins something

I just want zero bots, they ruin the market. It was fun grinding for the value. Cant handle playing hours of free time that I sparingly have. To see in the next day or two or week the game is full of enigmas and 20x high rune people or worse. Games great and a masterpiece and it’s fine how it is but I think it’s not adding it’s subtracting the bots.

If you want zero bots, play local single player, or play online with a group of others who agree to only trade within the group (and obviously not use bots).

Blizzard can’t eliminate the bots. They’d go bankrupt trying.

Just my two cents. It is asking a lot oh well. I just can’t do single player not enjoyable or just a small group. It was fun with the community of d2 players sorta made the game for me.
