Stuns in PVP Need to be Looked At

Stuns in PVP need to be looked at. The issue is more than just mindblast: leap and shockwave all provide other players the ability to make you lose control of your character entirely for extended durations or even until you die without any chance at counterplay.

The issue was managed in original D2LOD via wsg, which was so important to game balance that Blizzard at one point removed it, only to have to reimplement it. The alternatives are either total removal of stuns against players, which would likely have negative effects on class viability for assassins and barbs, or some kind of diminishing returns system that would require ongoing management and tuning which also seems impractical given that ongoing development efforts are not being funded by subscriptions or micro-transactions.

You can see here what stuns look like with shockwave. Once those players are hit, there is nothing they can do except wait to die. This is not fun or interesting gameplay. Please reimplement WSG or remove stuns entirely.

We just need to restore parity with LoD. Fundamental game mechanics weren’t supposed to be changed, especially not ones relied upon to make gameplay functional

You could just ban skills that perma stunlock regardless of FHR? Or don’t play with those type of BM players? I know it’s not a perfect solution, but it’s something you, anyone, can employ right now.

Almost every skill can stunlock people when it does enough damage, and there are multiple skills that stunlock regardless of damage. The only simple fix that actually solves the issue in a workable way is to fix WSG to work at parity with LoD. Any other attempted solution would involve dramatically overhauling how the entire damage/stun system works, changing the balance for all skills

No thanks this game shouldn’t be balanced around PvP. If they add a PvP arena in the game that would be neat but other then that I don’t want PvP balance at all . Also allow bowazons to be great again and un-nerf piercing and guided arrow. And also change the amazon to not be ugly as sin.

Its not a balance change, its how D2 actually plays, which is why D2R should play the same.

Yeah, the game had a solid set of rules to enforce GM play to give players a chance in even the worst matchups. Without WSG, some characters become absolutely unkillable for classes without uninterruptible attacks.

different game mechanics then in d2 lod, meanning you could not stun lock someone like this even with out wsg. Go try to use shock wave on naked players in d2lod legacy, and he has no fast hit recovery you will see you will only get off 2-3 shock waves max. no way in hell would you get 5-7 shock waves on geared players like in this video. Pvp is gonna be garbage as geared vts and smithers are gonna dominate stun locking everything. Once they get resistance charms.

Another factor this druid has very good gear and enigma, summon druids suck in pvp for the most part, even with godly gear. Most of the enemies hes fighting are just running in place, no teleport.
