Stop crying about PC lobbies

I remember joining lobbies and then joining too late next game and having to find another. I also remember people jacking my lobby title and stealing my group. I remember the list refreshing before I could rejoin. If it wasn’t 130am I might even remember more. You’ve got some serious rose tinted glasses. There are discord groups, xbox and ps LFG (don’t know about super Wii… Sorry to Nintendo users probably) I even saw someone mention a huge Reddit group. We have a lot of options to find groups and the way I see it if they can iron out matchmaking well enough what’s the difference between joining some randoms at the press of a button vs typing in sweatybaals001 and having the scrubs pick your game off a list?

Yes, I’m aware that we have those options. I’d have bought the PC version instead if they’d have told us that we’d need third party sources to play online in the way the game originally was played. I’m all for a quick match option plus lobby lists, like Battlefield games do. Mind blowing how they didn’t give us that huh? What console are you on btw?

So this is the anti-petition thread? Provocative title to get the opposing replies flowing … meanwhile pegging the anti-message to the top of the topic list for onlookers.

Maybe dont peg the topic title if you dont support it…

Devs surely know by now there is interest in lobbies. Their move.

Meh, I suppose your right, not sure what I’m thinking, being diplomatic with PC players trolling the console board. Let’s let this topic die.

I bought it on my Series X b/c it was advertised on the Microsoft store as below, word for word. And i cant afford a new PC yet, so i was tricked into thinking it was the same game.

-Remastered graphics—monsters, heroes, items, spells, all resurrected.
-Classic gameplay—the same Diablo II you know and love, preserved.
-Planned support for cross-progression—take your progress wherever you play.
-An epic story told through five distinct acts.

If they said, you cant have trade lobbies, you wont have chat, you wont be able to use MKB, you wont be able to go hostile… The console version isnt the game that is advertised in the description that i copy pasted from the store.

You can go hostile, you do it on the party screen.

See i have yet to see another player in game at all and from what i have gathered is it needs to be in the PVP matchmaking. You cant just hostile another player and start attacking.

Sure that part might be wrong but having yet to see another player b/c party finder is absolutely useless is a problem, there has been 0 arguments that have even let me entertain it as a good idea.

How about you piss off buddy? We all overpaid this recycled game so at least we can cry about things that are criminally failed!

From where are you i mean if we are in the same region we can invite you to play together

No, custom lobbies definitely need to be added back in along with in game chat.

Removing these things make multiplayer feel really empty even if you end up matching with someone to play.

Closed beta’s multiplayer was so bad on the PlayStation when it was working I ended up just sticking to solo self found gameplay just like I am doing now.

Until the add lobbies and in game chat back into the game the multiplayer will continue to be bad even when working as intended.

Quit trying to be the outsider…

I should be able to make a game called um 4 pul if I need to do so. Should be able to join a game for runs if I need to. Should be able to create a game to get help if I need to. The current system is garbage FOH.

Just since 1996 when I bought a magazine with Diablo 1 CD

Quake for the Nintendo Switch has a lobby (to browse games) and match making…

If they ever DO adopt a lobby and only limit the game name to act / quest / difficulty, I think we can all assume that a1q1 norm would be for duels and trading…just like the good old days.

It is kind of crazy how a game 20 years ago had a better matchmaking process and ability to communicate especially as modern consoles can do a lot and have mouse/kB support.

I blame nintendo switch. they could have on screen keyboard for typing messages but I’m not sure theres a good solution for mouse.

I’ve never seen a game on consoles with a lobby and everyone talking a lot, chatting with keyboard and communicating. At least for me, I don’t want connect a keyboard and mouse everytime, set a table on the living room, just to write 3 words to someone. If I do, I go to PC. I want seat on the couch, turn my controller on and play my games. BTW there is a Voice and text chat system on consoles in case I want play more than a quest with someone. For sure a in game voice and text system would be a great addition to the game, even more if they look to Crossplay.

Now let’s go to the PC lobbies. Opening the game and going online, let’s take a look which game I go in:

Telebaal 17 (1 player)
Telebaal19 (4 players)
Trist3 (1 player)
Gotristam001 (3 players)
Rushme by forge (1 player)
Walkbaal 01 (2 players)
Asdass (1 player: created 2h37min ago)
Walkbaal 02 (3 players)
Tumbrun 03 (2 players)

Ok I guess I go telebaal19:
Player a left the game
Player b left the game
Player c left the game

Gooo telebaal20!
The game is full.

Yes PC lobby is perfect!

Pc lobbies is not perfect… but what they gave consoles is broken hot garbage. All they had to do was port a 20 yr old game to consoles. They couldn’t even do that. Make improvements fine but don’t go backwards lol. This is a single player game for console players let’s face it.

You posted exactly the same my first post. The problem on party finder is that is broken, not lacking of PC lobby.

I joined some full Baal runs earlier today and even a few half full chaos runs in NM. Console is lacking a good option for trading. When I played d2 on pc for the most part you weren’t going to get a bunch of people joining your game to beat act 2 or whatever. It was mostly trade, PvP or runs of some kind. If they make matchmaking work (a lot) better I’m happy with that. Lobby chat I think def should be implemented. I don’t usually want to join a voice party with randoms. And definitely not 7 random people. For people I actually play with voice chat is the better option though
