Your best option with a 1 point smiter on swap is Grief, the added flat damage on Grief is a global modifier and not a weapon specific mod like enhanced damage which means it is one of the few mods that actually gets added to ur smite damage, this is also why u cant see Griefs actual damage in the tooltip when using skills like Zeal, Fury, Frenzy etc. since the tooltip is based on the weapon damage. So basically if u want to use smite vs trash mobs this is by far ur best pick since crushing blow does very little actual damage vs low hp enemies compared to flat damage , vs bosses CB is very effective but has diminishing returns due to being based on a percentage of the monsters remaining/current healt which mean when the monsters healt drops to a ceartain value the flat damage becomes more valuable than CB which is also why greif is superior for finishing the last few percentage of hp when doing ubers or dclone and using smite. Besides this weapon is great for zeal too

Ohh and btw, remember that life leech doesnt work with smite but life tap does which is why draculs are great for smite
Btw you should be able to run both ??? Holy shield is not an aura but works more like Battle Orders, Frozen armor etc. Its a time based buff with a pretty long duration which allows u to run any aura while still having holy shield

I respec’d my Spear-a-Din, he is ~99% the same… but I recouped my misled points (in hope of HolyShield) and applied them to Zeal (Sacrifice is max’d).
I also went from ~1700life to 2000Life (On the nose)… Guessing the Egnima allowed some stat points redistribution.
So… with the added attack rating from increased Zeal, and the added Life… and continually re-learning how to play a melee character (operator error LOL)… I am no longer concerned about my weapon swap.
Interestingly… my HolyShock seems more effective… which is welcome, but… totally misunderstood by me… Does Zeal points ad to HolyShock?
At any rate, going to play with StormLash and CrescentMoon or giggles… on off hand against ranged attackers… Weeeee.

Nope, not to my knowledge but if you have any extra + skills on ur gear when u weapon swap they will ofc add to your holy shock and the added light damage to attacks from holy shock will be added to ur weapon damage when using zeal

StormLash was very safe… Cmoon has the -35 Lite res… Hmmm…

Yeah Stormlash is nice, i have/had an eth Stormlash on non ladder i cant remember if i sold it, think i might have to try it out on a proc fury druid and maxing the synergies for Tornado might be fun with the carrion wind rings twister procs too :D. Did a Windhammer version once and it was hilarious, everything was almost perma stunned.

Yeah they do decent damage even without the 50% bonus from being eth, besides if u are using holy shock + the flat lighning from Stormlash u would probably not even feel the difference anyway

Well, made it to the next level while running TZ Cow’s… Added my 1 point to Dex to equip Cmoon.
Funny/interesting timing, as my Spear would die before a single Cow run was complete, so I had been finishing up with StormLash/HoZ… which allowed pretty good fel for how the SL/HoZ was working (quite good as a matter of fact)
Swapped the SL for the CMoon… do other changes other than 1 into dex to reach 136 to equip PhaseBlade…
For this build (based around running HolyShock and a Spear… LOL) the Cmoon was noticeably better than StormLash… guessing the -35lite res on the Cmoon ihas a great deal to do with it… honestly do not know.
TZ’d Cow’s ended on that run and was followed by WSK, so, I jumped into a public game…
So, experience with Cmoon was limited to a few minutes…
I “think” Cmoon/HoZ will make a great weapon swap for the “Flying Chickens that shoot fireballs” and massive packs of Archers.
The -35 light res definitely helps alot when using holy shock, ur phys damage and leech will probably be lower though.
Yeah any low life enemies will definitely be reduced to ashes when using holy shock, Cmoon and + to skill gear, make sure u have a light sunder soo the pesky glooms will die too when doing WSK, besides it will be pretty ez to max ur block chance with HoZ
I know this is kind of off topic but i have been taking a break from travincal the last couple of days to do some key runs. Since i dont have a smiter or the gear to run ubers for my dudu i decided to trade 4x3 sets for unid torches (hopeless gambler sometimes :D) but i did end up being lucky this time and got myself a 17/20 sorc torch :D. I ended up selling this for Ber, Lo, Ohm + 10x Ist, dunno who got the best of this deal but i was happy and it was way more than the Vex i could have sold the set for. So now i need a 5os pb and i can continue my project
Ya, seem’d to work really good in Cows, but, later, running the (2) “ice-ee” tunnels in Act5 it was almost useless… so, back to the StormLash with HoZ.
Ok, with that out of the way… still struggling with Ranged attackers.
I mean, I can cope/deal, but dang… so, I respect’d to get HolyShield on weapon swap… just enough to get 75 block.
StormShield/HoZ and HolyShield… and he is rocking out in ranged attacker situations.

Nice i bet he is stronger than mine though… hes more like an expensive meme char… but he definitely procs alot of stuff now, might give the mosaic assa a run for the money when it comes to being flashy … but ofc he cant compete in clearspeed but it is fun. Gonna try out dual warshrikes later… throw style.
I think the stormlash wins in many areas because it has better phys damage, leech and it has extra added light damage. The reason Cmoon is great for cows is that hell difficulty cows only have 50% fire, cold and light res and only cow king + a few uniques spawns with immunity which means the - 35% res from Cmoon can reduce their light ress to 15% and if running infy merc they will get another - 85%. Since none of them have immunities except cow king and 1-2 uniques convition wont suffer from the 1/5 efficiency penalty

Recently grabbed my Spear-a-Din, and… forgot how much fun he is.
Actually… I forgot how much fun and engaging Melee is overall.
Static on StormLash is nice (and 33% CB) but - Infinitie’s lvl 12 Conviction, + -Light Res (-52 on mine), PMH and 40% CB - obviously trumps StormLash All day. But, one StormLahs/HoZ still wrecks for ranged attackers.
I have a Crack of the Heaven’s, StormShield and SoE in my stash and cannot remember why… possibly;y for Meph runs…
