Yes…
What I said was and replied to was, if we nerf teleport and put a cooldown on teleport, then what’s the point of FCR. I have a fishymancer, my FCR lit.

I misread your original comment. It’s sarcasm and I thought it was serious. My apologies.
Its cool bro I’m not mad lol
I played original D2 for about 2 weeks back in the day. My friend’s were high level and boosted me to the top.
I decided to try it myself and I enjoyed my initial play through. I’ve played everything but barb through normal now. I don’t see myself going beyond that though. I find the whole immunity thing just annoying at this point and why would I want to deal with more immunity as I continue going forward? Really poor design back in the day and just dreadful in 2021.
The lobby is in dire need of an upgrade. The loot system is really poor for multiplayer with randoms. I killed baal with a group once. I didn’t even get to see what dropped. It was already gone by the time I was in range (was playing from range). I understand it is the nature of the beast in today’s world but it is just an overall poor experience.
I’ve watched a handful of videos where people clear mephisto, baal, tunnels, etc. 100+ times. They may get one or twice pieces of gear that can be traded (on a third party website). I don’t have the desire to bother with that when I can watch a 3 minute highlight of someone spending hours farming instead of myself.
This is definitely a hardcore game. It is great for some people but I don’t see it lasting for any casual player. Sure, you might get a small boost when the ladder launches but they will fade out after a week or two.
I’d really like to see some massive balancing between classes and abilities along with many quality of life changes to make it more user friendly. Almost every video on youtube is a cold sorc teleporting around the map like crazy. It wasn’t balanced back in the day and it isn’t now.
At the end of the day, I got my $40 worth in terms of time spent playing. I enjoyed my play through on each character. There isn’t much for me going forward though. I’ll still mess around with it but I could easily uninstall it at the same time.
i mean they did say it was one of the goals of the project to bring in new players in the blizzcon deep dive
I guess that’s as good a new player’s opinion we’re going to get in this thread (I really didn’t think there were so few new players on this forum!), thanks for the reply
One of them, perhaps. But I doubt it was the primary reason for dedicating project resources. Very few new players would have understood the original experience, IMO.
yeah but apparently blizzard doesn’t understand the experience either lol did you read the recent blog post where they were surprised by how many games people can make too quickly, even though many people pointed out if they remove the realm down timer bs it would lead to this exact problem. Now we have an even worse thing than the temp bans because it makes doing baal runs and other repetitive games much harder to do.
Gamers evolve over time. The difference is that D2 itself didn’t “evolve” along with the generations of gamers, so there’s a difference in how gaming is done now.
Now it’s all about “efficiency” and “META” over enjoyment, IMO.
It’s all a vicious cycle which is going to come full-circle at some point. Gamers are going to start questioning why the hell they’re on the hamster wheel to begin with, and hopefully they’ll understand the reason for why “efficiency” should never be the focus.
True, but does anything look cooler than Volcano and Armageddon? The swag is real. Playing Nightmare with a fire druid is great fun. But yeah, Hell, you better be GG and have some alternative damage, if you want to have a chance.
I’m mostly an MMO player but have played D3 a lot. During the years since it has launched I have played it on PS3, PS4 and PC. Now and again I’ll do a season for a week then get bored. When they announced D2R I was delighted. I have always wanted to try the game out with improved graphics. D3 and D2R are different games. Both can be fun.
So reading a lot of forum posts about D3 I knew what to expect of the game. There were no surprises. I was delighted when I died and had lost all of my equipment. I also love the no hand holding aspect of this game. Slowly I am learning as I go along. I decided to look at no guides until I had completed the game on normal. Veterans of the game said that was the way to go. It worked nicely. Now I’m learning about runewords and damn are they OP.
Right now I’m excited to keep playing. I imagine I’ll keep rolling characters. I currently have 3 sorcs as I’m learning what I like. I imagine that once I get higher levels then it might be harder to find gear. That’s fine with me. One gripe about D3 is that after a day or so you have all the bis items. Then it’s no fun. I like having to earn things.
As for the server issues they suck. Luckily I have had plenty of time to play. I can see the anger of people who cannot play. As for suggestions I don’t think I am in the position to offer them until I have more hours under my belt. The game is 20 years old, so obviously it works.
