So I decided to just run with cosmetic mods online

what an absolute miss by the dev team with vamp gaze. Whomever chose to make the grim helms look god awful like that needs to go back and look at the OG ones. I only ever run bone helms for lore or whenever I can bc I absolutely despise the way the grim helms look.

All they had to do was make a bone helm green and that’s it. Also the Shako peasant cap looks horrible as well.

Simple reasons like encouraging cheaters/exploiters. Member Tmc break point mod? That took ages for them to do anything. Technically, it was a animation mod but because speed was controlled client side, it worked on bnet. Its only a matter of time before a similar exploit is found and abused.

??? What a stupid thing to say. Amazon are female warriors, not pretty pretty princess with a javalin. Stop thinking with the wrong head. SMH

I don’t really see how anyone would be any more encouraged to cheat by this, than they’d already be. Cheaters gonna cheat if they find a way. Not like I’m doing any special hack wizardry here either, just enabling the mod via the regular command line argument, as I would with single player.

Had to look up that mod. Yea it does seem like an oversight on the devs part, to allow something like that to happen. So far I’ve discovered that only visual changes can affect the online in D2R. If someone were to discover an unintended exploit by experimenting with mods, then I’m sure it would eventually be revealed and fixed.

Do what you will but everyone agrees to the eula. You can get banned for playing on bnet with a modded game.

It’s not clearly stated though, is it? I find it hard to believe that the devs are ignorant about this, if they prevent cosmetic mods from working online, then I’ll just stick with modding single player. Until then, don’t mind if I do. If I actually do get banned for this, then I’ll accept that.

Not that I still wouldn’t think it’s BS to get a permanent ban for this. Gotta be clear about the rules, if you expect people to understand and follow them.

Its your call. I suggest thoroughly reading the eula, they can flag you for any modification on bnet.

They could, but again, the eula is vague about this. Pretty much up to interpretation whether or not this could be considered hacking. Yet the devs have openly stated that they support soft modding. So eh, I guess well have an answer if I, or someone else gets the banana.

Don’t tell me how to think
