Ladder is full of restrictions which suck big time. Thats why so many players rather play SP.
Good luck finding all the runewords you need for several builds in 4 months if you want to play selfound…
there really isn’t a “choice” there either
personally i am a person who would much RATHER play a NL type game… where i can get older version of items, were i can buy items cheaper and try crazier builds because they would cost less to make.
i play ladder because im FORCED to… because not having endgame runewords basically like playing on “classic”
that’s not to say i would never make a ladder characters… i like starting a new character when everyone else does, but i also want to be able to FINISH that character later…
what d3 did limiting ladder only stuff for one season was reasonable, what d2 did is not… its be over 17 years since 1.10… let m,e make my spirit, infinity, pride, fort in non ladder.
i don’t want to be FORCED to play ladder and never be able to go back to my nl characters and “finish” them because i cant make a rw or i cant find a griffons.
give EVERYONE the full game.
if they want to make NEW runewords and items ( which don’t really support), but if they DID, then i can see those new ones being ladder only for ONE season… like how d3 does it.

I would like to see ladder runewords and all other content such as ubers, diablo clone, and the items they drop added to single player. The two items on the top of my wish list for D2R from the start have been this and a massive shared stash (like 100 pages), basically what the PlugY mod does. As long as PlugY still works I guess I don’t care if it gets officially implemented or not.
Couldn’t a mod just add ladder rune words to single player no problem?
It can but not on consoles…so for single player it would make playing (for example) Nintendo Switch without internet much more lame when you’re away somewhere without connection.
I would also like ladder RWs in single player, mostly for my Switch play.
Give the SP people access to all runewords! Give them the Pandemonium event also.

I love the shared stash don’t really care either way about charms inventory as long as it doesnt reduce normal inventory, but 100% want this please Blizz. It really can help bridge the gap from NM to hell and then thriving in hell.
Yea charm inventory would be a nice thing, but not a must have, even though I think without it the inventory management will be very messy on the console.
I also can’t see why some runewords aren’t available in SP mode.
In a way, the opposite would be more understandable, since you may already benefit from other players help in multi-player mode (with different damage types, auras, curses, etc).
I would be curious to know the real story around this decision. To encourage people to play online ? To keep the original difficulty ? For obsolete technical reasons ?
Yea I think the real reason was to motivate people to play ladder online, that’s why I think they made only ladder ruenwords. Whereas most people do not play online because of ladder only ruenwords, but mostly because of trade, playing with others, trading, ladderboard, pvp, new fresh start, new fresh economy and so on.
That’s not encouraging but rather forcing people to play ladder. Encouraging should be optional, but to get those runewords you HAVE/NEED to play ladder which is not optional.
Yes, it super easy modification as rune words are in patch, they just have 0 in one column instead od 1. (in files)
I only think this argument holds up online. If you want to play SP, everything should be available. If you want to play online you should be encouraged to play ladder. No point in discriminating against those who don’t want to be online.
Also, I’d still imagine you could use tables to spawn in runewords if need be.
i cant imagine playing this game by yourself… how boring and lonely when there so many things u can do in a party and pvp and have friends to play with online
Don’t get me wrong, I agree with you, I personally want ladder runewords being available in singleplayer. I was just listing some arguments why some people prefer playing battlenet over singleplayer.
I am having tons of fun in singleplayer, just by playing alone 
. But I like both modes, battlenet and singleplayer.
I plan to play online on pc, but offline when I play on the switch when going away. I think ladder only runewords in single player would be great for playing handheld when I don’t have Internet!
No, you are right I think. I am one of those players who used to play ladder solely for more merbs and runewords. I would generally play in private games, solo. It was nice to have the option to get some speed runs when being lazy tho.
Yea I started with singleplayer, and then I found the battlenet which I played for years, but later I came back to singleplayer, that’s where I am now 
. I missed the ladder runewords in singleplayer though, so I added them via a textfile so i can make runewords ^^
