The only way I can see them doing something like this would be if drops were based on amount of damage dealt. They wouldn’t want to flood the market with goods, so they’d still have Baal for example drop his regular 4-6 items rather than 4-6 per person. So, maybe split it up based on the damage dealt by each player? So if I did 3% damage I might not see any item at all, and if you did 50% maybe 3 for you. Sounds bad for the low level guy trying to level up and catch up with other players. Sounds bad all around if you ask me. - - - Maybe, if there was a toggle “share loot” when creating a game and/or creating a party in game where loot would be automatically split; loot would be randomly assigned to party members in the immediate vicinity? If the item wasn’t designated to you it would simply work as if you’re trying to pick up a 2nd Anni. I could live with something like this, as long as its optional and apparent that this mode is currenctly active.
In time, you will literally get every set and unique for your class with individual loot.
If trading isn’t absolutely dead, it’ll be mostly irrelevant.
For loot terms, let’s be clear.
Instanced, timed, and global loot
There is instanced loot, timed loot, and global loot that differ in whether loot is dropped for players individually, an intermediare, and lastly dropped for everyone in the group (free for all loot aka first click/first served).
Trade
There is free trade, redtricted trade, and no trade. Terms like BoA, BoE, and BoP are relevant here.
Smart loot versus non
There is smart loot and not-smart loot where the difference lies in whether loot drops are biased towards the character class being played.
There can be mix & match between the three categories.
D2R has non-smart loot, global loot, and free trade.
D3 at release had non-smart loot, instanced loot, and free trade.
D3 now has smart loot, instanced loot, and restricted trade.
Well, then lets just say that I think they should have a toggle per Party or per Custom Game to swap between Global Loot & Instanced Loot. - As long as the game shown in the lobby is obvious as to which Loot type is enabled before joining*
Before ladder resets? I doubt it. And if so that sounds like trade value to me. I’m not going to get all the items I would want or that are good for my build first.
Well so sounds like you better start nighmare meph + countess + diablo runs, hope you get something worth trading.
You know instead of complaining how you’re awful, and Blizzard should hold your hand every step of the way.
Nobody needs “d3 2.0”.
It feels good to loot something someone else couldnt then SHARING it with a friend. It is clear where your mind is at.
Or maybe dont let greed take you over and corrupt you into believing its not fair that someone else got the loot. Instead maybe just be happy for the person that got the loot.
vouch lets try this but I have a feeling it will be a dead server.
Huh? Why are you assuming Im not geared lol. I’m actually happy you brought this up because it took me just under two months to get endgame gear for my pally. So by default individual drop couldn’t speed up building that much.
Compare to d3, with exclusive loot, people legit getting to T16 within 72 hours.
I much prefer d2.
More trading.
More interacting (even if it is at a minimum right now)
And filtering noobs, oh wait, im sorry, i mean “video game challenged” is always a plus.
Yeah also smart loot. That’s a big difference. It would literally hurt less than d2jsp and holding a horde of fg for new ladder start. People are already waiting and will have their endgame gear in a week or two.
The drop rates wouldn’t be effected. People have played for 10+ years and still haven’t seen some hr drop. Individual loot would change little about it. 1 person is still getting it and others are not.
Yea sounds like you are talking non ladder. To be fair I didn’t stick to one character this season (I have 17) but 15 characters are in hell so I have a bunch of hours playing hell. I don’t put forward the hours doing just runs that I need to.
There are people that don’t play as much as me but still want to be able to gear at least 1 character. But we put in 100+ hours (this is a lot for an adult which it seems most of you arguing aren’t) and didn’t even get 1 ber or jah necessary to gear 1 char. I’m trying to remedy that while allowing others to play the way they want - hence my other post asking for casual ladder and competitive ladder (allowing ladder items to be crafted in non ladder also fixes). Having shared loot as a per game option would also help a lot in this.
D2 is a grinding game… If you don’t have the time to commit to it, (which is fine. There’s way better ways to spend your limited hours in a day) you’ll be better off either getting a different game or even going to LOD and just modding the droprate. Either way getting a game that’s been established for so long to change to your lifestyle is kinda narcissistic.
15 characters in Hell, and you don’t “”“have enough time”"".
There’s your problem.
15 characters.
In Hell.
Try focusing one one or two and build up.
It literally isn’t rocket science.
I said others don’t have enough time - the people I play with. I agree with you I should have just a few chars. This was my testing season to see what I want to do in future seasons. But unfortunately I don’t think I can persuade my friends to stick around for future seasons because they don’t have my kind of time for the grind.
And the point is I’m not asking the game to change for everybody and I’m certainly not asking for the game to change just for me. A lot of people want higher loot drops and or individual loot. Adding an option for those that want it would allow more people to enjoy the game. It sounds like the people that don’t want change are the selfish ones cause they don’t want something that would hardly affect them because they want items others don’t have.
Edit: also to be clear individual loot would help me play with other people since I don’t want to mf with 400% mf just for others to take my drop every single time. And increased drop rate I only want it to be maybe double as I’ve done a lot of 350% mf runs and don’t have a single ber or jah to start my enigma. Albeit I still have only mfed on hell for maybe 50+ hours (that’s more than I put into 95% of other games I play).
The time it took to type this is time you could’ve ran like 10 Hell Cow runs.
But that’s like your choice, right?
How slow does a troll type? Damn. Takes me 15-30 seconds to write this; whereas that may be plenty of time for trashman to last in bed, I doubt you’ll even have wirts leg by then.
I’m curious. Did you play LOD? and if you did did you ever play a modded version with higher drop rates?
Yet you’re still here complaining how you were too slow to pick up some (probably bad) set or unique.
