Exactly. And this is not even about higher resolution, the game works 100% in any resolution with the standard 16:9 aspect ratio.
It is about unusual aspect ratio that is expected to not be supported by all games, especially older ones and remasters of these. You should have count with that when you buy such screen.

all the have to do is up the agro of mobs and put a cast limmiter on spells. there is no need for black bars

u will be shock how meany ganes run fine with 3440x1440p this is the 1st real one I have come across even works well with WoW

16:9 aint standard anymore get in to the 21th century and upgrade those stone age 16:9 to the standard of 2021 that is 21:9 & 32:9

In multiplayer, you will have players with different screens in one game. How you want to balance the monster aggro range for that ? Also limiting range of spells is quite a big change to the game mechanics/balance, not going with the intention of authentic D2 experience. For PvP, it is still broken as long as you can see other players and projectils on your screen beyond 16:9 area.

Its sad that you dont understand how bigger resultion would negatively affect the gameplay. Diablo 2 wasnt design for monitors witch suche resolution.

These UW screens are more suited for work, or some simulation games, maybe FPS, but for these, more people prefer TN screens with fastest pixel response and refresh rates up to 360 Hz. VA (which is your Samsung also, btw), are actually worst choice for FPS as they have worst pixel response time. Do some research, before you claim your screen is superior.

The vast majority uses 16:9. TVs, laptops, now also consoles (=TVs), these are all 16:9. And for PC monitors, I am pretty sure most (around 90%) people uses 16:9 screens.

Exactly. Therefore, there is no other way to fix 21:9 except limiting skills to 16:9 screen size and fog of war outside 16:9 bounds so 21:9 doesn’t have a visual or mechanical advantage.

Instead of threatening to refund, mabye add a suggestion thread and recommend a proper solution where UW can actually work with the game without breaking it instead of acting like this. My point is that monster AI, maps, monster skills and player skill werent designed for ultra wide screen. You would have to rework whole game so it could be fine with ultra wide monetors without limitation like these black bars.

Exactly. Not just pvp either. The mobs will quite literally just stand there while you kill them from afar. People have zero understanding of how this game works. And honestly, as much as I hate to say it, I almost would have rather seen them rebuild it from the ground up so they could address a lot of these issues. It’s whatever though.
