I HAVE NOT attempted to use any kind of cheating software!! this happened after i said to “report the bot” in chat. It happened instantly after that. i truly feel it has something to do with those bots somehow attacking my client. im beyond upset right now. how can a company bann my account and not explain what CAUSED IT!? im fuming tbh.
The bots did not attack you.
If this was a false positive and they review they will usually unban all the impacted accounts. You would get an email to that effect so you are not toast yet.
It tends to take a bit though. Keep your fingers crossed and email open.

I do not understand what has happened. I’m pretty sure this is from the chat in diablo 2 resurrected there was bots spamming to buy and sell items so i spammed to report them because you literally couldnt read anything anyone was saying. I did NOTHING WRONG. i play this game over 8 hours a day sometimes and i love it, I DONT UNDERSTAND WHAT HAPPENED? im almost furious for buying this game and now this happens? I DID NOTHING. i will NEVER TALK IN CHAT AGAIN AND IF I CANT GET MY ACCOUNT BACK I WILL BE SO UPSET AND QUIT THIS GAME FOREVER. DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH TIME IVE INVESTED ALREADY !?

Please i feel sick to my stomach. I have invested at least 100+ hours since launch. I watch MrLlamasc and all the twitch streamers. this game has been my dream since 15 years ago. I dont understand what has caused this i have HONESTLY DONE NOTHING! I do not use any 3rd party software, i would never risk my account with anything. i was just playing earlier just fine then i spammed a bit in chat to " Report the BOT" that was spamming non stop to buy and sell. I see people over at jsp saying they’ve also have been banned but at least they’re honest and have the guts to admit what they’ve done.

I know. Breathe for now. Something is off here. The first few appeals after a ban wave tend to get this reply. The front line folks don’t have the in depth review back end so all they see is a positive note for detection or behavior on your account. You are going to have to wait until someone checks deeper for you.
No, I have not. However I have been doing this a long long time and either I am super gullible, or something feels off here. I have seen hundreds of these on the WoW CS forums too. I can’t see the Blizz side, but I can often tell when something is likely wrong.
If he was not botting, exploiting, or spam-bot advertising websites it may actually be a mix up.

I don’t think anyone is really taking his word on anything here, but keeping an open mind on the situation and providing him assistance on where he needs to go to appeal the action if there was a case of false positive like MissCheetah was doing.

ya, its easy enough for an “innocent” to get caught up in the fray, happens in real life, don’t see why it can’t happen here. it does feel like Blizzard is going to be really bringing out the ban hammer very strong for this game. I mean, i would think their focus would be on the server issues and to get the game running smooth before the ban hammer even came out? i seem to remember the OG, and that it was like only every few months or so that the ban hammer came around. but they did say they were going to be trying to do a better job of keeping a handle on cheats and bots. again though, im sure some, a few will be mistakenly banned? It can happen, thats why they have an appeals process

personally, I hope they get silly on the ban hammer. Been logged in 18-22 hrs a day plus sense release? Definately botting…ban hammer. Getting thru all zones in seconds? Map hacking. Grabbing only uniques and runes the millisecond they drop but not grabbing the blues or other items? Pickit user.
Cheaters are lame straight up. If you are one I hope you get the hammer. Learn to play better or figure a way to be competitive without cheating or buying your way there.

lol. yea if he was speaking the truth all the GM’s and all the other people who “reviewed” it wouldn’t have came to the same conclusion. By his own admittance he said he already had played 100’s of hours sense release. He cheated and now he’s paying the price. I don’t feel bad for a cheater. never have never will. If you stand up for a cheater or think it’s Ok it’s just as bad.
I play legit, all the time so I have no fear. Play by the rules or get taken to school.

I think we all agree on that. However as players, we can’t see what was detected and what was going on. I try not to just blame the poster, esp when they are polite and seeking guidance.
I don’t mind telling them how to appeal, explaining the policies, ban categories, penalty structures, etc.
Blizz is the one who has to sort it out, not us here on the forums.
I want to correct you here. When Blizz does ban waves there can be false positives and those don’t get found until a few days later. Initial appeals are denied. I have seen it happen several times over the past 15 or so years. It is not common, but it can happen.
If the OP is being honest, it will hopefully be sorted when they review things this week. If not, then well, it is what it is.
Years ago I would have sided with Blizzard but I have seen their integrity go down the drain. Not entirely sure who to believe here, but I have no reason to doubt the OP. I have all the reason in the world to assume blizzard just doesn’t care and banned him for bothering them to do their jobs.

I mean cool for you. When I was still interested in being a moderator I probably would have done that same. As just a regular guy now, I can tell it like it is.
I think this is exactly what Infernal meant. If you did play legit and caught a ban you would be feeling it too.
The situation is easy to control if you just monitor it in real time with people. All it would take is some vetted unpaid employees. The community would solve the problem in 24 hours.
Let’s all be honest here. The GM’s can review and see all your activity. If several of them came to the same conclusion, he cheated. plain and simple. You can’t be playing “legit” and have crazy high log in time or other sure fire red flags. He had them, they seen it and he paid the price

Besides, it is illegal in CA to have unpaid folks do labor the company pays people to do. They don’t even have unpaid interns there. Interns are a summer program and they pay wages, housing, travel, and have a lot of professional development courses in addition to the planned work activities.
Nobody who is not actually paid Blizz staff touches moderation for their games or forums.

And who oversees that? What’s the check and balance on that? How do you know that’s what’s going on? I’ve been banned from these very forums for respectively disagreeing on the amazon issue. They called it “trolling” and appeal was denied.
Banning is just their whim.
