Recent update on PC causes immediate crashes

Recently had an update for D2R. I was playing successfully this afternoon on the same PC. Now when I click “Play”, I get “Launching” followed by “Playing Now” for about 5 seconds, then a revert to the play button. The game will not launch. So far I’ve tried:

  • Uninstalling and Reinstalling the game

  • Restarting the computer

  • Run as administrator, turn off full screen optimizations

None of this has worked. I also am getting an error in my event viewer for D2R each time at launch. It’s not very informative, but here is an example:

same here…was playing earlier today and now the game will not even load…have you been able to find a fix?

I am now getting the same error I could play before but now I cant. same error in event logs.

Same here, after the automatic update I cant get past the play/launch button!

Multiple players are reporting the same issues here, on reddit, most everywhere this can be discussed. Can anyone help? I’ve tried everything and I can’t even get the game to blink on or even get an error.

maybe a random question but what region are you attempting to log into?
also, do you use a vpn?

No VPN, I’ve tried logging into americas and Europe. I’ve also tried compatibility mode, clearing all my app caches, so far nothing has worked

Just checked again and still having the same issue. I also Tried other regions and compatibility modes still no luck.

Blizzard is a beast making you all work so hard to solve a problem you think is on your end. this company should be disgusted putting you guys through this… im sure some of your computers if not all of you is working fine…

Same issue. What an experience this game is.

Same Issue, Was successfully playing all morning and mid afternoon yesterday. I actually crashed out, then Bnet Launcher did an Update for D2R and updated it to 1.0.66578, now it goes to “Launching”, “Playing Now”, then back to Play and subsequent errors logged in event viewer. I Confirmed System meets minimum requirements, its a laptop but i7-8750H, and Discrete NVIDIA 1050Ti. Literally zero performance issues playing the game since launch other than the random crashing in game, but now cant play at all? Major issue!

I was able to launch directly from the x86 folder for D2. I got the Blizzard North logo and D Resurrected logo and now I’m stuck on the loading screen to bring you to the Title page.

Ran the Scan & Repair from Battle.net app, in the options next to Play. I’m in.

Have exactly same. Support just closed my ticket with resolved state with some BS tips, I already tried and no luck.

ohh still no fix! waited a day thinking it would resolve itself.

Here same 1 crash each 10 games

My ticket is still open but no answer yet.
Saw a blue post respond to someone with the same issue that put in way less information than we already provided. It would be nice to see this at least acknowledged even if the answer is only we don’t know but we are lookt into it.

i had the same issue, uninstalling my latests amd drivers and installing an older version worked like a charm.
