If I pick up a +1 to summons gc will the summoned get the passive benefits right away, or is the benefit only added after I re-summon?

Here is whats cool, you can summon with all the skill charms, then put them in your stash and they retain the boost.
Yes and no
Skeletons and SKele magi get passives automatically w/o the need to recast them (a.k.a they don’t snapshot), on the other hand golems snapshot the passives on cast, meaning you can beef up ont +skills gear cast the golems switch gear and go kill stuff
this snapshot mechanics is particuarily usefull when going summon necro in D2R Classic…
most ppl out there don’t even think summon necro is a viable setup for act4 D2RClassic where there’s no merc to help you kick things off, yet if you’d do your build right, and take a few extra steps with juggligng between acts before starting act4, you can kick things off just fine,
and since shrine buffs ( skill shrine in particular) do travel between the acts with you, it’s a matter of purchasing the right item from town vendor, finding skill shrine, buffing oneself tp, waypoint to act 4 drop the iron golem item, summon iron golem with extra +2 to sklls, go out the pandemonium, amp mobs and watch them melt
