Question about Eth Oath Balrog Blade

So I just rolled an eth Oath Balrog Blade for a very budget Berserk barb in order to use it with a Gull in my off hand in order to see if I can find some better gear for myself.
However whatever I try to do my barb decides to NOT use the Balrog Blade as the berserk attack weapon. Leaving me with terrible damage from a Gull dagger.
I have tried putting the balrog in both weapon slots, I have tried replacing a shield with the Gull. The gull ALWAYS ends up in the right (wrong) hand.

Anybody else have a similar issue and a workaround?

Make sure Oath is in the Main hand

honestly, just drop 1 point into find item if you want to use gull.

Check str/dex, I had the same issue and had to put some points into str to fix it

agree - there’s a thing now with equips if you are getting str/dex from some other items that help you equip weapons, it may keep you from wielding the weapon you want in your main hand. I don’t know more specifics but the similar thing happened to me.
