Purists will kill this game early with their fear of change

Walking or running up & down stairs is more of a zick zack movement pattern. In Arcane Sanctuary for example there are a lot of stairs and as a melee, espacially in normal difficulty it feels / felt pretty clunky. I believe it has something to do with running diagonals in the game and when moving up or down the stairs, it doesn’t translate as well as running on a flat surface.
Later on in nightmare and hell it’s not a biggy anymore since you mostly teleport around.

Does anyone know if Blizzard found a way to smooth out that pattern?
I didn’t pay too much attention to that during Beta but i just realized it for my preparation hardcore run.
