I just wanted some help mourning, had some file corruption or something. all my offline toons are gone
Sypha my Lvl 95 cold/light Sorc with chains of honor, hoto, Nightwings , griffons eye. all socketed and my near full max merc. all ethereal Fortitude with great roll, infinity, and a socketed Andy’s vis plus just the farm speed , I also lost a lvl 85 nova necro with bramble rolled at like 42%
and finally a lvl 86 frenzy barb with death cleaver and a grief
as well as all the items in the bank. ratest of which was ethereal templar’s might
in conclusion I know I can’t do much , but I lost almost 4000hours of my life so a bit of help morning would be appreciated, all softcore offline. ill post some vids RIP my guys and girls

You are not alone, happened to me as well. Unfortunately, my cloud saves were overridden at a time so I had no chance to recover, thanks to the way Microsoft handles the Xbox saves.
You might have a chance… although I have no clue about how Sony does the cloud saves/backup thing.
On the flip side, I have restarted after couple of weeks of break and after a year, I had better characters over all, since I knew how to redo everything efficiently by that time.

yeah I already started again and I agree with what you are saying about going quicker and more effective. thanks for the kind words. it just stings, I love offline to much to play online… it’s more rewarding to me to have to work for it I’ll check the cloud saved but I think I was off plus or whatever… thanks again
also just remembered I had a max ias ruby jewel of fervor in my merc… the merc is what’s hurtong the most tbh . it would be very difficult to make a better merc than I had all eth max jewel good roll on eth foridude. uggggg

At the time, I was so upset that I even considered switching to PS, just because it allows something that Microsoft has been rejecting: local USB backups. According to my research at the time PS4 not only allows backing up all your progression to external USB but also gives you the option to cherry pick what you want to restore.
On PS5, it was gone but it still allows restoring everything (all game progressions, settings, etc) So just make sure you take regular external backups and you should be safe… From memory, you don’t need subscription for the cloud saves, that would be unethical but if you restarted, your progression is probably overridden anyway.
FYI, if you don’t mind cheating (abusing cloud saves 
) you can actually reroll expensive runewords (for free) until you get a near perfect one 
i don’t mind doing this since on console, we are so limited. we have no hero editor, we have no unlimited respect command, map seed hack, etc.
