Proposed Quality of Life & General Changes

Generally speaking they add a few QOL changes that go along with a big patch.

So I would guess that the next big patch will address a few QOL things that they see as the most pressing

Even if not a priority… they have done it to gamble, how hard would it be to apply it to vendors lol

IT should be, they enabled it for gambling already, just a few more steps to add it for all vendors. Perhaps they were hung up on the issue of sold items to vendors, and now its as simple as adding a tab in for those items and turn on the refresh option.

add /nopickup option to settings. prevent picking up items when show items is not toggled on. exception for gold.

I would much rather use the right thumbstick to jump between the items and decide what to loot.

That being said, i think the merchant refresh cannot be done in the current engine because, different from the gamble store, its not player based but instance based, you need to refresh the instance.

That happens coz gamble was always player based, but the vendors are the same for all players in town, you cant even refresh leaving town if a player is there yet because you cant reset the instance that way.

could make a refresh button appear in shop only when you are alone in a game. but having refresh on shop might make it too easy to get what you need. it also takes away things like using the shortest route to reset shop or using speed gear / harmony to improve shopping speed.

I was thinking of a potential solution for this. The merchants could be designed to have one “static vendor tab” that all players would have access to (same for all) and one “dynamic vendor tab” that could be refreshed by players for searching the various wares…

  • Static vendor tab - this screen would be instance-based and same for all players
  • Dynamic vendor tab - this screen would be player-based and could be refreshed by players

you could make a really fast dedicated shop farmer assassin. 382% faster run / walk.
30% circlet / 20% valkyrie wing

30% cats eye amulet

61% Burst of Speed level 20
36% Harmony

and still the loading times would be the greater issue

no loading time if you get a map with short way to entrance and just run outside to reset the shop.

depends on what you want to shop, drognan is easy, run out teleport in.

ideally, yes, we want them to finally fix the loading speed. but non of those are far from entrance if you run. with that speed it would be pretty quick.

Refreshing the merchants via teleporting in/out of portals is gimmicky, just add a refresh button similar to gambling. I’m sure Blizzard can figure out an elegant solution.

there is another option. we could make all the item shops gambling. and each have different items you can gamble. based on the items you find in the shops normally. this gives you more reason to go to other shops when you need to gamble for specific items. and you can just use the chances that the shops already use to spawn the items.

edit 3: oh ya if wondering why the % are calculated between 9-12%…sometime there are gap which gave nothing after every 3-4 gain per lvl and it kept occuring even at top end

etc…keep going like that…so i added that “nothing” to a certain % range

err lets use the top to examply it…at 9% frw every level of 3% did net a gain
but 9% to 12% for say would net nothing…so i added that “nothing” in the range of the next 3 lvl that would gain up until 21%…and if you been understanding the process…you would guess that 21-24% = no gain…in other word every % displayed above mean that there no yard gain for the next 3% gained after these % displayed above

edit 4 and last edit: also just a guess of mine…but these lvl showing no gain probably had a number that would not round up to the highter number.
for say 11.410 to 11.414 would display as 11.41
while 11.415 to 11.419 would display as 11.42
the third number after the , is not displayed on maxroll so there a possibility that there an actual increase…but it just wont show up as its rounded up
also there a possibility that these number rounded to the lower number have no gain at all(not sure how the game calculate the rounded up numbers :S)…so honestly…i think its best to assume it as a dead %

edit 5:(which should not have exist)…realize that there were duplicate of the 160-181% lines XD…thought i had erase everything the ctrl+v pasted an extra time…but there were remain that stayed undetected(text copied from my notepads)

yea i read about that. pretty annoying to have diminishing return on run / walk when it’s so ridiculously inefficient compared to teleport. but if all the character does is shopping then any extra speed is worth it. does anyone know how many yard per second teleport max out at now with the new resolutions?

Agreed. I also think Blizzard should look into increasing FRW on inertia charms as follows:

  • SC - grant up to 5% FRW (up from 3%)
  • LC - grant up to 7% FRW (up from 5%)
  • GC - grant up to 10% FRW (up from 7%)

I also think making false Tal Rasha Tombs level 85 areas (optional) while keeping the true tomb unchanged (required to progress to Act 3) would add tomb runs to Hell, good alternative to spamming chaos and baal runs. Good place to farm- high density, ghosts for gems, runes, jewels, etc.
