Ppl already BiS geared

lvl30 can face tank normal Baal and ancients already

selling torches, buying keys, killing ubers and repeat
i did it in D2 some years ago and you get rich quite fast

Yeah, all you need is a dedicated group of people, a couple hours a day and you have someone else do the trading, whoever has the most time available that day. I have a group of friends I play with and we just worked on gearing each other. Gear your cold sorc first, with all the MF and Non MF for DMG and you are pretty much coasting at that point.

I got self-found enigma, traded hoto and CTA, got 18-20 paly torch (first torch identified), all legit no bot. I just played a lot and got really really lucky. I even given a Lo rune to a friend. Found Lo, Lo, Ber, Jah so far.

Blizzard is ruining this launch all by themselves. A calculator can run this game, and its been 100% issues.

If you play a lot(basically vacation time) and grouped with other people its possible to be fully geared with the exception of a good inventory especially if they fed you gear. Even more so if you use D2JSP to trade even if you never bought forum gold or just used whatever values you got from the items you traded without anything saved up from before the remaster.

Honestly I’m starting to feel the same way… My brother and I blitzed the game and beat it on all three difficulties in 6 days flat… Did it with a Meteorb Sorc and Hammerdin… found some decent stuff along the way but nothing too crazy… some mage fists, a couple storm shields that we’re not even using… we basically just made spirit swords and shields and called it a day.

I made a Heart of the Oak for my brother and just need another Vex to make a 2nd one… everything was self found, no trading. Made 2 Insight axes, one a Thresher the other a Cryptic Axe… made Lore helms, found 4 Tal Rasha Helms and made 4 Smoke armors to get us and the mercs through Hell, I managed to get lucky and find a Glad’s Bane for my Hammerdin…

I dunno, we beat the game quite easily with minimal frustration and now we’re sitting here like… okay let’s keep farming for BiS gears but for what reason? LOL

It’s just chasing the purple dragon at this point. Don’t get me wrong, I love this game, I want to continue playing it, but yeah I see your point.

As a kid I feel like I was much dumber about the the strategy involved in playing and would rely heavily on how fast my character could kill enemies, instead of trying to find round about ways of dealing with them, like kiting and pulling etc…

Either way, yeah people just want items for gloating and efficiency purposes… Also, it’s an in game economy and capitalism reigns supreme in just about any economy.

The more rare stuff you have the easier it is for you to sell things you no longer need and get other gains elsewhere… with money comes power basically… but yeah that’s the gist of it… people just want to be rich in Diablo II. LOLOL

It’s really not hard especially if you’ve been playing the game for even 10 years. The progress from fresh character to MFing to endgame gear can be done in under a week depending on your luck and other people’s luck so you can trade for stuff they got that you need and vice versa. Unless you solo self-found, it’s not hard to get all the good stuff your build needs to farm more good stuff quickly because, statistically, someone somewhere has found what you need, and you can trade them for it.

The really should have improved the interface to add crafting so new players do not have to search the internet. O you didnt save your sockets Larzuk sockets? To bad reroll. These old methods from a 20 year old game are bad. Publish the recipes at the very least on your own client Blizzard. Runewards/Spirits are not easy to understand for new players. To be honest I have found jack and made it to hell pretty easily solo. The problem is I am becoming bored or unable to play because of these server outages. I bet they are glad they did decide to add the offline mode or this game would have been refunded.

Yes, because they removed ladder based restrictions. Countess and Hellforge quest in Hell difficulty drop high level runes. This effectively creates a loop that I’ve been exploiting to craft any rune I want. Typically takes about an hour to rush my buddy to Hellforge. I typically see Pul the most from this quest, but it can be anything Hel->Gul. Countess in hell can drop high runes too, but I typically see things like Rals and Tals from her even in hell.

Yeah there are a lot of things they needed to do to this game to improve it but the purists kind of ruined it.

I mean, having more than 3 shared tabs would have been a nice start… I find myself spending at least 25 minutes after every play session just organizing stuff on the appropriate mules.

Drop rates are literally abysmal and need to be improved… I think they fixed the Andarial quest bug so now she drops junk every time… I have a 304% MF sorc and she drops 1 blue and a white almost every other time I kill her on Hell… it’s ridiculous.

This game was released incomplete and it shows… they need more QoL features, like a dedicated rune / gem tab where you can just stack all the different types of runes and gem levels on top of one another… kind of like PoE…

They need to include loot filters as well because Jesus… The amount of white junk that drops is absurd… there’s a few other things, like 100% monster immunities that need toning down… I can’t understand why you’re forced to bring a merc with you at all times and keep them alive while equipped with an Infinity pole arm when using any kind of element on Hell mode… It’s kind of dumb.

Again, game needs a re-balance because a 20 year old dog **** meta is laughable at this point… they kept it too close to the original because they were afraid they’d have another Warcraft 3 on their hands but yeah… even the loading and the character selection is still as clunky and broken as it was in the original game… Where your characters are locked in to servers if you switch them too quickly… also, constant crashes for no reason… server maintenance every other day.

Yeah, this game isn’t done yet… needs significant improvements. I’m almost thinking about just quitting for 6 months and coming back when it’s a lot more polished… sick of wasting my time with this actually.

I know. But that is only one aspect of trading.

Try trading small charms, plain skillers, socketed items via game lobbies.
It is quite tedious.

i feel like they bumped up the drop chances for d2r - as to test things out.

way too many ppl way too geared way too quick, including myself.

i cant even blame that shady site - im just chaining chaos runs solo… imagine in p8…

i swear 3 months chases are now 3 days chases. if that makes any sense.

Idk ive played with moderation , i just hit hell today , after a long weekend of having to play offline on a new character.

A friend of mine was 80+ in the first week with close to all BiS gear , but he spent 11hrs a day on the game while im spending like 1-3 ^^

“but no one uses real life money to buy forum gold…”

says an army of decked out characters less than 30 days after release.

in a game thats supposed to contain the rarest loot of all similar games…

“dont turn this into diablo 3, we dont want legendaries raining… diablo 2 is all about loot being ultra rare.” but really its more like "we just wanna buy them with our credit card illegaly so people think we earned it… "

People farm torches within what, 4 hours of game launch? Actually it was very buggy on launch day so it was 8 hours.

Torches get farmed, noobs find high runes, trade high runes for torches. GG ez bis gear.

Anyone that’s decked out in BiS gears already bought it with real money somewhere… this includes using fg on that dirty website…

A lot of people sweat in this game. It’s expected!

and thats my biggest gripe with that satanic website.

the legit gamer who got lucky is looked down uppon as an unethical user just as the actual unethical gamers.

shame really.

Lots of teams and streamers. The Paladin probably spent the first week doing nothing but grinding torches. That would make you a fortune in the first week or two so you could trade for whatever you want.
