PLEASE OPEN UP A NO AVX SERVER So we can at least play the game we payed for i am sick of Blizzards lack of response they are treating people with the AVX Issue like lepers

The AVX problem is one of the most communicated issues, THEMAXX. Multiple posts with updates on where they are on the process.

A separate server won’t matter. It is the core software for the game that is rejecting your computer. They are working on a fix - without breaking everything else.

They posted again yesterday with an update on the AVX issue. You can find it pinned to the top of the forum.

Advanced Vector Extensions Issue Update as of 10.5

Hi all - Update for today 10.1 with AVX. The QA team is still collecting performance data on machines with and without fix. The goal is to A/B testing between both and ensure that this is not impacting an existing setups. The testing will continue today and through early next week. Once we have more details on how those went, we will let everyone know.

The beta didn’t have AVX functions in the code. Those were added after the beta ended, presumably to improve performance, which was somewhat lackluster during the beta. Unfortunately, some CPUs don’t have AVX (even some modern ones on the cheap side), and some that do have AVX aren’t allowing the game to launch, likely due to microcode errata in the particular steppings of the CPUs in question. That makes it really hard to nail down.

I’m hoping that they’ll allow the game to let the user enable or disable AVX with a configuration tool priot to the first launch (once the patch is out), as that would allow players to play the game regardless of their hardware while allowing players not affected by the AVX issue to continue to enjoy the performance gains currently available.
