I need a playable (widescreen, not bugged UI) legacy mode just to have an option to play D2R from my notebook when on vacation or so.
I agree and want this option to be added. Me and my friends would like to play in legacy with widened view as it is on modern graphics.
I don’t care about a widened view or anything, but at LEAST make legacy run comparable to the old D2. I have no idea why the quality is so poor and why it’s so choppy, and yes I know the old D2 is also choppy, but not nearly as much. Old D2 looking and running better than the D2R legacy version in 2021, is really hard to comprehend. I’d love to play in legacy mode more often, but as it is…not a chance.
So, just refund D2:R… buy D2 and play modded servers!

legacy mode cant support widescreen probably.
theres tricks involved and those are part of the d2r “magic” overlay 
if it was easy to get widescreen, d2 wouldnt have been on 800x600 all that time.
it was part of the challenges of making d2r.
Legacy in d2r looks 5x worse than the actual D2:LOD. Just go load both up side by side, it’s horrific.

Are we really asking them to devote time to the crapiest option in the game…only included as a novelty feature? If you like Legacy just play D2 standard, the community still exists.
Legacy mode is only there to vouch for the authenticity of the remaster.
u can already upscale LOD using glide… u can make LOD look beautiful with glide… u can run it at 4k 144hz if u want… i also want glide to be added to d2r

Pretty embarrassing this hasn’t been addressed. After all this time they’ve only thought of terror zones. Be honest with your surveys, not nice. Democracy doesn’t work so well when 90% of the population favor stupid stuff, like the guy who says this post is freaking stupid in the first place. Legacy Mode graphics is unplayable and should be fixed. I am sick of playing the amazon that looks like they don’t know their gender.
I totaly agree with this point. Even if i don’t play much with legacy (but i could play more with the same widescreen view)

I have a story for you all today to show how important this post is.
One day long before ladder, I surfed public games to mf. I found a chaos game.
I was mfing solo outside of chaos for about 3 consecutive games.
4th game or so, the host yelled at us mfers(me+3sorcs) to help chaos, or leave.
I wasn’t finding anything on my routes so I figured what the heck i’ll go help them.
the 5th game was the last chaos I joined.
Somebody was going on about how great the new and improved graphics look.
This was irritating me because I always felt like the old devs worked harder and did a better job especially with what they had at the time.
I would argue, the lightning and ice spells look WAY better in legacy than they do in D2R.
The host got irritated with me because I was not at all impressed with the new gfx/chars
Him along with 3-4 others were fully engaged in this argument.
While trash talking them regarding this topic, a Ber rune dropped.
I finished my sentence and ran to pick it up.
There we were, the three of us arguing and huddled with each other over that Ber rune.
I was very pleased to see that I had a Ber rune in my inventory.
I like to think I only got it because I instigated an argument, and maybe it wasn’t just me trying to finish a sentence.
I told them all they should be ashamed and that I got the ber rune because im right!
The truth is my character was much more established than theirs and ran twice as fast.
I was asked to leave and never join this chaos game again, which I respected.
This post reminds me of this atrocious crime I had done.
to be an mf rat making their games harder…
just to get yelled at to help them…
only to steal the biggest drop those players saw that day.
That is disgusting.
I don’t blame myself for this tragedy. it is the developer’s fault for delivering such a trash legacy mode option that it actually makes me mad because it looks worse than Diablo 1 and forces me to attack other players who praise the new graphics.
I will continue to distract and rob players of their precious loot in public games until this is fixed. thank you for listening to my beautiful story.
blizz should give legacy better resolution if they can and it’s not too much trouble. no it’s not going to look the same with low resolution on these modern big screens. you need better resolution. 4k with legacy
