from what others have stated in other threads going back months, that is what I precieve to be the truth. old code + more tabs (memory) = load/data issues. but if you have information that indicates otherwise I do want to hear it.
I agree with good changes and have no issue with Quality of life, but your behavior sheds bad light on the entire topic and moves you two steps backwards, calm down and be civil please
Engage in the topic at hand? You said more tabs will impact the memory of the game because of old code or something you read on the forums. What is there to talk about. You don’t even know what your own argument is.
I said exactly what you state I said. You said it doesn’t work that way. I asked for clarification and/or new information. You have to yet to provide it.
So you think they can enhance the graphics of the game to 2022 quality, add features that never existed even the one you are debating but cant add more tabs because it would break the game?
You don’t think this game already takes a massive amount more “memory” if that’s what your argument is?
Look around you and use your brain FFS. That is the problem to begin with.
The game has been massively augmented already by enthusiast players in PD2 and POD.
What you are saying would be the most minor code change that has ever been implemented on the game to date.
I don’t think I need to sit here and babysit you and explain the obvious.
I mean, that’s kind of what they did to begin with. I never said it would break the game I said it could impact players more than they are currently impacted. Load time complaints, item poof complaints, gpu problems. On high end systems on less. It isn’t the game using memory that’s the issue its the amount the save files can tolerate in their current iteration.
Not even Cyberpunk was safe from this. lmao when a save file exceeded like 8kb or whatever the hell the problem was they became corrupted. But maybe Cyberpunk isnt the best example to use lol.
Wouldn’t know honestly. Don’t follow the mod scene.
That’s great if so and it should be implimented. I was never arguing against more space, was just commenting on what issues could arise. Stating what I though or might possibly be reasons as to why they haven’t yet and the possible ramifications as I know them at this juncture. Then you came running up in my face picking a fight lol.
You already have more stash space… What are you even talking about.
People have been saying their items go poof in their inventory for 20+ years on Diablo 2.
that is nothing new and has nothing to do with stash size. The first stash size upgrades for this game came out over 20 years ago.
I don’t know what you guys are thinking the participation in this game is right now but the sales for Diablo 2 were much higher that D2R.
As for memory I don’t even know what point you are trying to make.
You used to have 4 Different servers on this game and at any point you could log on and find 3-4x the amount of games being played at any time.
Players back then used to have 3-4 accounts of mules filled with items.
So you are telling me that a single account capped version of the game with a max of 20 characters cant hold 1/4 the amount of data that could be held in this game over 10 years ago or even 15 years ago.
All you are basing your entire theory off of is that some players have said their items have gone poof and the idea that the code is old or the engine the game runs on is old.
You cant even explain any of that in a technical regard and none of it even indicates that players couldn’t have bigger inventories.
You are legitimately not making a argument to begin with.
Almost as if you just want to have something to say about it but really don’t even know ANYTHING.
Imao. Yes old code/engine can cause this issue. Thats why the new graphics are running on an overlay using a different engine.
The old engine the game is using cannot handle the upgraded graphics.
No im actually not i know for a fact any game engine even modern once have limites to what it can handle. Even more so with a 20+ yr old engine.
The amount of data the engine in D2R can handle is not the same as modern day engines like unreal engine unity or even godot engine. Heck even game maker studio is limited.
If vv/blizzard used a modern day engine u would have a very good point. But they didn’t.
Ya we already have more stash space. That does not mean the OG engine can handle more than what D2R has. Issue is how the files are structured. The engine can only save so much for each chars save files.
Psuedofate has even pointed out some of these tech issues that could arise. And yet u still have not provided any info on how exactly this wouldn’t be an issue.
Bottom line is D2Rs engine is old and outdated it cannot handle what modern day engines can. Perhaps research this first. Cuz it can tell u have no clue how engines work or how they are limited.
playing diablo 2 from day 1
playing from the prime era of 1,09 my game make 180% degree change
just nvm these 1,14 fake purist
so today i welcome all change thank you
All of the things like this people are asking for have been modded into the game for offline, either original or with D2R. All of them. This isn’t about the code at all. Stackable runes, increased stash size, more tabs (with original D2, the NEW coders broke it).
Rune & Gem stacking is not simply a QOL change, it has a big impact on the economy.
This essentially gives the botters/supplier to manipulate the price on the economy by hoarding them all and control the scarcity.
The botters usually have the upperhand in the inflation of HR. While average players burn them by creating runewords. Since runewords also have variable stats forcing players to reroll, runes become even more scarce.
If botters cannot stack the items, they are forced to buy more account for more stashes which in turn is rather acceptable in controlling rampant prices before Blizzard have to step in to fix things.
lol yeah after our initial volley i tried to actually get you to have a conversation and you provided absolutely nothing of merit. You’ve provided nothing of merit to anyone questioning you. To then come back and quote this thing i said only because you went on a tirade after I posted a completely innocuous comment.
None of this is surprising. Just look at your introductory paragraph. Hallmarks of being a little [female dog]
