Ladder resets, and I guess the christmas event. There’s literally nothing else going on in D2R so what is the CM supposed to do? Definitely seems to me like a “shooting the messenger” situation here.
not ignore literally everyone until about 3-4 weeks before reset where he responds to a single person and says at some point soon
nobody is sad hes gone sry
I am a bit salty that it seemed like places like reddit and Twitter/X had more engagement in terms of answering questions than Blizzard’s own forums, so I don’t fully disagree with you. That said, Pez may not have had much control about what he was allowed to share/engage if his job was structured with other priorities that took the majority of his time, and he certainly can’t be blamed if there’s just plain not D2 related news.
So while I wish there was some improvement in communication on Blizzard’s own official forums (when it does seem like responses and info gets to other platforms more easily), I don’t think Pez is entirely to blame and it’s overall probably just not a great spot to be in.
If you are the head of communications and don’t control communication…….. I would say that defines how good you were at your job.
Ultimately the “suits” are in control of what is communicated… The community manager position is simply an interface between the suits and the consumer.
While more communication with the players would be great, there are a couple of problems… The first is that people tend to hear what they want to hear. Second, our silly instinctual tendency for negativity bias means that bad news carries faster and farther than good news, even if the bad news happens to be incorrect.
In other words, they walk on eggshells every time they communicate with the player base.
