PC + controller = pickit

And I don’t argue with you on that.
What I argue about is that blizzard is currently not allowing people using mouse and keyboard to play with people using a controller. But not exactly, if you use controller on PC is fine but on Console isn’t?
I know why they do it, because their lobby system is terrible. They don’t care about having people using the same controller or not.
And this is what causes issues like controller having big advantage at picking up items.

I agree with this statement, I am not sure how I came off as someone who you thought didn’t agree with you on this.

One is bannable, other is legal. It is not the same problem at all.

Adding to this.

Controller was designed for more comfort play or for those with health issues.
Pickit was made to loot before other players. Just because people are abusing and exploiting a mechanic that is exclusive to controller mode… That does not mean controller mode is designed for cheaters.

One day your wrists will will become stiff and rigid, and I will laugh at you as you are laughing at me now . Playing Diablo or other click loot games… is all but going to guarantee health problems… (Arthirits\Carpal Tunnel)

its like someone that boxes… there is no avoiding getting punched in the head in boxing.
There is no avodiing arthiritis or carpal tunnel if you are a heavy gamer…

Controller use is fine, it just seriously imbalances the game when theyre playing with mousers. Controller use just needs to be restricted via a game toggle or vacuum loot needs to be somehow altered in a game with mouse users. This is a super simple issue, not entirely sure how Blizz can fix it though. But it needs to be addressed, because it is preventing multiplayer from being played as intended.

I thought of something like a delay. maybe something like 15-20 ms before they can grab the first item and in between items. 10ms to simulate reaction time (can they spam the grab button before the items drop without moving? never used a player, don’t really know), 5-10ms to simulate the aiming for the item and then the same for the next item. the numbers could use some fine tuning, though i think the theory behind it is reasonable.

The reaction time of an 18 years old is between 180-200ms.

oh okay, just like i said, the numbers need some tuning, though the theory behind it is important for the first steps. a delay to simulate aiming seems reasonable, and also should be applied inbetween item grabs. But is a delay for reaction time for the first item grab reasonable? can they just spam grab button before baal dies, or would that result in a movement? Should you apply that also in between items?

Edit: just looked up the reaction time for 100m sprinters for the start. A sprinter is disqualified when he or she initiates the start movement within 100 ms after the start signal. that should be te lower end for the amount of delay you put on reaction time. aiming should even have more.

I tested my ps4 controller, it worked pretty well. I picked up a ps5 controller and it worked even better, eventually I’ll hopefully get a ps5? Sometime before the ps6 comes out? :joy: but did seem smoother? And more responsive. It’s my understanding that an Xbox controller works even better in windows, of course, depends on the controller? Not sure about the switch

Having auto/turbo button on loot bind for bosses is very broken.
I would like to see a equal balance restored, considering the looting was like that before. (i am aware of bots/pickit etc)

If you havent yet, I very much encourage you to try out a controller in this game. Its GG.
You can have more spells bound to the hotbar than D3 even. (non of that dated ancient system of mouse wheel switch click mousewheel switch click)
It has its drawbacks of course, like quickly trying to loot one thing in a pile of things.

Again I think it certainly messed up some things like what I mentioned at the start of post, and also auto aim in pvp is debatable advantage too. It was not part of legacy and really shouldnt be in the game but here we are.

I wonder how many ‘no change’ people use a controller, or the auto gold pickup feature even. Things that they would seemingly use because its better, then run here and vehemently argue against a non soulbind ploot system that didnt increase drops.

No issues with Controller support, but the auto hot pickup is no different than a pickit hack, What on earth were the dev team thinking. This is a shared loot game, and this addition is a glaring error in design.
