That same fresh player wants drop rate increase, safe space from hostile players and a bunch of other stupid things, go play d3
that true, you are absolutly right, the fresh noob just another guy who cant use google how to play.
But it’s not designed that way, you have sorc that will clean everything before you using tele and some javazon that will throw some spears into void 2 screens in front of her, hoping to catch a kill something. Then you have summon necro that will never get anything since it cannot kill anything fast and with dostance.
What you propose is:
- Sorc get 95% of loot
- Java get 4% of loot
- Whoever have enigma and can „outsorc sorc” will get 1% of loot.
Co gratz, you just made whole community mad by making enigma even more mandatory to have if someone wants to play something else than sorc
if you’re wanting Ploot or a loot distribution system, I have the threads on it. Click my icon and look under topics. This is something I fought to the brink of hell and back for. Like a lot of people, I’m interested in making multiplayer more inclusive and enjoyable for people of all skill ranges and experience.
please take some time and read them and comment if you want. Literally this topic has been A to Z’d. There is a mostly worked out system in the threads presented to the smallest details as to how it would work, be implemented etc.
Always remember it would be optional. If you want to play the current way you still could and could still trade with people.
It would literally destroy D2R. It would force the largest portion of the community to return to D2LoD, and after D4 is released D2R would die completely.
Yes, lets unite everyone by separating the loot.
Can I get 3rd option to pick? Where host can allocate loot to players as he pleases? It still would be better than leeching or bots picking up items before they hit the ground
We could call it „battleroyal” or „heist” loot
The same old players want to ruin any chance the game has of evolving by sticking to outdated mechanics, go play LoD.
that would be a master loot system. If it was also optional, I don’t see a problem with it. I don’t see it being very popular though. For like clans or certain groups sure but for the everyday noob I don’t think many would want a master loot system
You mean the same old players that made LoD successful for 20 years and inspire this remaster? You’re telling them to beat it, go play something else? D4 launches next year, we’ll still be playing this game while you’ve completely forgotten about it while playing D4.
Many would’t also want game be flooded with bots and have a lot of chance to be directly/indirectly involved in RTM. But here we are ![]()
Your idea would punish people with high pings who struggle to keep up if everyone else is teleporting flatchat. We’re robbed enough as it is, please don’t rob us more.
People that don’t want changes have LoD. People that wanna play D3 or D4 will have that option. D2R shouldn’t be held back cause of D2 and should seek to be a more modernized version of D2. Everyone has options. If all they were gonna change was the graphics then there’s no point to even make D2R. It should be a modernized version of D2 with many changes. D2 isn’t this flawless masterpiece some people claim. It needs many changes and updates.
lol nice answer. not many would want that I agree and here we are. I do think there is a master plan being worked on in regard to that. Microsoft is more “on it” when it comes to things affecting the multiplayer experience outside of the intended parameters. So perhaps we will see something before season 2 in regard to that.
give this person a medal

It’s not that D2LoD fans don’t want changes, because we do, what we don’t want is the core of the game changed, which the very thing that made D2 endearing. Sharing drops is a fundamental core aspect of the game.
better, give players two options as toggle
- ffa loot with player auto setting
- personal loot with p1 only setting
On the other hand I don’t think that will ever happen. This would require insane (for a 20+ year game, that is not friendly for new players born and molded by differnt kind of games) amount of money and resources. You would have to create scripts to catch bots, hire a lot of employees to monitor trades and catch „jsp traders” (while in the same time destroy every item that was traded by them). Faster way would be to disable trade and increase loot chances to mitigate less item circulation between players. But that won’t happen ever, neither the first option.
You say outdated, I say “Has stood the test of time”
The only players for this, are the modern D3 leechers who just want their participation trophy game mechanics and are still sore they were too slow to click on loot. News flash, every single one of us has missed out on loot that someone clicked first.
I swear I clicked on it right away, but alas, it wasnt in my inventory…
It all evens out, because there will be plenty of times when it is in your inventory, and thats the best feeling!
Until you Ploot warriors suggest to us a legit way to combat leechers and make it fair, we will always be against it.
Here, I will give you one, and it will break the game.
8 Player game, 8 players in the screen, 8 Ber rune drops, 1 each.
This is the only way we will take a Ploot change to D2.
microsoft already has teams that look for “cheaters” they would simply need to assign or hire more for this.
But again it is older game but it is new as well being the “R” so who knows. They are in fact still making changes and some rumored “big changes” so nothing is off the table just yet
