Normal Act One Only?! Yes, I'm level 55!

My first one was in LoD too! Again, never leaving act 1 though.

That’s awesome! You were able to grind to 80? In normal that caps good exp at lvl ~53, since throne of destruction & worldstone chamber is at level 43. Boy that would have been some grind!

Did/does andy q not have a lvl cap?

Indicating what little thought you put into them?
Wasting time is a great go to statement, to rile people up.
Wasting time is a matter of perspective.

I’ve done hc, but truth be told, I’ve never gotten a single toon to 99. Not even in softcore. That was because the grind was to much for me pre-terror(I think I got to ~92 max). I haven’t really gone for it after terror zones. I have to look into that.

I fully expected this.

This indicates that you are probably better at arguing than me.

While I do concede that this can happen, in the end its softcore mode, and doesn’t truly make a difference anyways.
AND this is assuming I didn’t die at a high level(regardless if that makes me sound like I suck at the game).
I think it was a unique pack of archers with curse. If I remember correctly.

In WoW it was called “twinking”
I wonder if that is also where this whole experiment possiblly derived from

I’m a lvl 55 Normal Act 1 Twink! Muhuhahahahahaha…

The fundamental question was, how high of a level can I get to, without having access to any other waypoints besides act 1.

My reasoning was, that my level 1 can join other games created by other people having toons at level 99. And those toons can make terror zones and cow levels. Which is why I justified using an alt to help make those if necessary, to speed up a process that I already had access to.

2 legit, 2 legit 2 quit!

That is what this forum is for, to ask questions and get clarification! My apologies for not typing every single detail in its entirety!

It was not my intention to claim that it was a solo run.

I’m guessing you mean my 80+ sorceress. True, I didn’t say that in the original post.

I agree, it tis silly fun!

How dare me!

Yes, but I think I need to clarify something else. I also felt, that since I could go to free games, and pick up anything in act 1 normal. Trading for anything is also possible. I have access to any item in the game, the only real restriction was level requirements.

Since this wasn’t intended to be solo, or self found runs. I could find/trade for items, then move them to the act 1 toons.

Which is how I was able to obtain a Ko rune for the Harmony bow.

Currently my Assassin is wearing full Sigon’s Complete Steel, that are all upgraded to exceptional. Even though its not optimal.

I probably found enough gems/jewels to trade for a few Ist runes though.

This is exactly what Stan, Kyle, Eric and Kenny did…

Your poor mama and toilet…

I aggre, you shared this with us, you got your comments, calm down now there are no leaderboards nor a competetive community for this lol

I figure, these forums are not necessarily looked at on a daily bases, and I have a lot that I wanted on the original post. So, I’m updating it as I have time. I know there isn’t any leaderboards or competitive community. And I don’t expect to generate one either. I feel like the original post isn’t complete until I have all 7 classes there.

I forgot the fact I found the full Cow King’s Leathers set while doing this.
Which I happen to have equipped on my Sorceress.

  • Cow King’s Horns x1
  • Cow King’s Hide x2
  • Cow King’s Hooves x2

Assassin is my favorite class in diablo 2, and traps is the build I love. I don’t usually use fire for very long, since lightning always feels stronger, so I was happy that I was able to use it more on this build.

I also love the fact that any class can have access to teleportation, from the staff charges. When I found out it was shoppable, I felt that opened all classes at the start of a ladder reset, instead of just Sorceress.

I wouldn’t necessarily call it a feat of strength, more like an achievement.

I’ve played games, where they have some silly things to do as achievements.

This sounds more like that.

With this post, I finish posting what my toons were wearing.

The highest Rune I can currently use is Vex (req lvl 55), which means I could be spendy and get Flickering Flame for my fire toons, but I don’t have that kind of disposable wealth yet.

Just wait till someone posts/explains their journey of never going past act 2, and upgrading el rune all the way up to zod, just for fun

I’ve met someone that did that, they had a dedicated sorceress that was part of a chain to help rush toons in less than 7min. With everything pre-set up. He had her higher than normal for an act 2 toon. I think he also mentioned he had one for each difficulty too.

That would take 14.281 Trillion El runes…
Even if you were to have a mod, that the only thing that ever dropped was an El Rune, you would never realistically finish that task.

Whereas I did finish my task, in a fairly reasonable time.

Minor achievements like the OP stated can be fun …

The furthest I ever went in Normal before actually killing Baal was 75 … it got a little monotonous with the slowing of experience gain, but was somewhat fun …

I like to go to 59, just for fun, then catch one of the GRushes and go all the through Hell Baal … goes rather quickly … then I come back and do all the NM/Hell quests, and level on …

Typically, Hell Chaos from 60 to 80/85 … then just play my heart out …

I would like to see you make a toon that never defeats norm baal (for quest) and see how high you push that

you can do 99 without ever seeing any baal.

I like doing weird challenges like that in Runescape. Recently I’ve been doing tileman (hardcore ironman and you’re only allowed to unlock one tile you can move to at every threshold of exp points, starting from a single tile in lumbridge). Great fun.

With Lister the Tormentor being level 58 and Baal at level 60, it seems that at level 70, it would become super grindy to get to level 75. I think the highest I might of done was ~60 or so.

Oliasys reply, seems to be a fairly grindy level to get to from Baal runs. As for myself, I use to stop around 50, I’ve started to go to nightmare at level 40 nowadays though.

I suspect the way to do this is by using bumpers in normal and nightmare.

I see the Hardcore World of Warcraft stuff, and I know I couldn’t ever get myself to do that.
