No savegame folder

Whelp. The missing (offline) character bug got to me, too, albeit I might have helped in effing it up.
My Notebook went out of battery as I was starting a new game / run.
I would go and try to …save the savegame, but I don’t have a savegame folder. Creating a new offline char - create char, save game, exit game - does not make the savegame folder reappear and I have no real clue as where to start looking. Everyone just names
C:\ users…\Saved Games\ Diablo 2 Ressurected but that doesn’t exist for me.

I’ve found it to be a neat trip down nastalgia lane so far, with the one or two quality of life things missing. Opening the game earlier and finding the character list empty was, admittedly, a big damper on wanting to continue on. Granted, stalling to grind before Baal in normal at 34ish, but still - I don’t want to start all over again from 1 until they throw in Ladder…

I’d be thankfull for any clues & joining the choir of complaining people in the meantime.

You must have a Users file. It is a default folder created when you log into Windows 10. Within that folder are all your special folders, like My Documents, Downloads, My Music, etc. Among those special folders is a Saved Games folder. You can move those folders to another location, but by default Win10 puts them in C:\Users. Those special folders often have unique icons associated with them. The official Saved Games folder will have a pawn and a puzzle piece icon, to differentiate it from other saved game folders.

I have that, but the Diablo subfolder is missing. Saves from other games that use that default location are there in their designated subfolders, I’m just missing the D2R one, which is the confusing part.

C:\Users\username\Saved Games\Diablo II Resurrected

That’s very odd. Maybe try doing a file search for Custom.key (assuming you have made a custom keymap on one of your characters and saved it.) That should at least point you to where your save game files should be.

ah, found it, thanks, Timber. Virtual hard drive partitions means everything is re-routed and not where it should be. Still, my Cyberpunk Saved Games folder is at the default location on the C drive, while the D2R Saved Games folder got chucked elsewhere…weird.
You saved a soul in search of answers there!

The d2s file is weirdly small, though. 26ish kb instead of the ~900 of the one from the new character…something went wrong here…
