I was also really surprised that Jab was a faster kill than impale despite the always hit in my char planner theory crafting and that the A1 Merc inner sight made the biggest difference in chance to hit.

Oh man, this feels like the classic case of on-paper vs play testing.
Jab does 3x sheet damage. I was pretty excited to try. 2 seconds later, p1 Hell Diablo absolutely obliterated my Amazon.
Impale feels a lot better to play with because of the slow. A suped up hone sundan does seem to be the best option too.
I think Jab is for a proper melee build, potentially with a shield as well. Bowazon with 600hp is too squishy to use it, in my opinion.

This is the build Burito. I’m pretty happy with it. Its for solo Diablo or Baal running. The slow removes the threat of the bosses, makes runs a lot safer.
Basically Faith GMB (+95 IAS) + Pride merc, multishot main skill, magic arrow vs physical immunes.
On switch, use Impale with eth hone sundan socketed with +45IAS in it (reach 138 BP).
I missed the part about the slow. I’m all about quality of life. I think I’d agree with your assessment as well as play over paper. I just tend do a feasibility check on paper first to see if I want to commit resources to a play test, usually offline first.
