Nintendo Switch: Single Player Characyer Saves

When creating a new character, the game allows the character creation, but when you close the software and re-open it the new save file is missing.

I don’t play online, so there’s no issue with player name.

Seems like once your in game, there is an auto-save/loading icon that appears that doesn’t finish either finalizing the save file (locked root?) Or completing the task it is trying to complete.

If you quit out of the Game, the icon is still in the bottom corner.

I did read somewhere that there is a maximum of 20 Character files (which is redundant seeing as the switch has Gigs of storage space for single player files), and I am currently sitting around 17 now. I’d like to start making some hard-core characters both in Xpac and NoX. Already have a grief/Exile smiter for torches and sold my son for an anni, so Xpac softcore is pretty much done with (aside from nigma and other unique items / tweeks).

Another issue:
Every time you kill Diablo on Classic (regardless of normal nightmare or hell) it always shows the announcement that you are a “Baron” or whatever the title is. Should stop after the first time. Also noticed the timer after D is killed doesn’t always show up (if you townportal before the var.tick=1 is enabled) or if/when you leave chaos sanc, the timer stops (display) but runs in the background (closing game) and then quits (normal function, but the display isn’t working correctly).

The Character game diff on single only works when your connected to the internet (which is redundant), that needs to be fixed. Could care less about the internet considering I’ve already dcloned and torched without them on single.

Drop table seems off, but that’s probably a discussion within itself, not really an issue, but the same times drop constantly, while others don’t.

Just looking for single player support.

Maps also dissappear (previous explored areas while still in the same difficulty) randomly, likewise skill positions via button mappings sometimes reset without reason or warnings.
Not a big deal, but it might have something to do with the save files and how they are altered or the procedures are being called into the process (possibly overwriting a cache save or the root folder is calling similar named discrepancies within the save files). Not sure if they are saved as .xml tables or if the DWORD values are effected within the .d2s saves via Characters and I’m not going to lookin into it. Just things that popped into my head as to where the issues could be caused from…

Ive left everything on the switch, haven’t messed with exporting or importing from PC. My saves have been backed up to Nintendos Cloud, so that may also be a plausible cause. If so, make it an option within your list to export to Nintendo cloud if necessary (to large file size uploaded?). Regardless, single player is saved locally on the switch, so that in itself shouldn’t matter how many characters I make.

I also noticed, on the earlier versions of the Game 1.0.0.0, you could create a character with the “-” before the name: example: “-friend” and it would be fine.

Now when you create a character with the “-” either before OR after the characters name (example: “-zombie” OR “zombie-”) the game TRIES to work, but says there’s a server issue with connecting which makes absolutely zero sense as these are single player files. I know from the original, you couldn’t do that, but that might be another issue with the character saves file. I remember there are codes (“ALT+0255"c"0-9”) that enabled colours within the game, perhaps that additional coding if available is creating issues? Dunno…
