I like it. I get annoyed having a powerful character that looks like a mismatched mess. It didn’t matter in Diablo II because the models didn’t vary much, but with the models trying to match their artwork more, we are gonna get some funky-asss looking sets. Transmog would be welcomed.
Hm it’s tempting. If it’s toggleable (in a way you see everything in original skin) i’d might actually would like it. And yes new models are totally awesome
I would vote, NO, we do not need a transmog system implemented into the game. I like that D2 has inherently unique looking items, and I think they should intrinsically stay that way. While I can’t argue an extra system on top may not be in the way of how others want to play the game, I fear a transmog system would add a different life cycle to the items and bend D2 away from what it is/was. furthermore, I don’t want to look for two items for one slot, or destroy one for another. Extra grind time is not something we need more of in this second iteration of the game.
I would be much more excited to know that VV or the design artists would be willing to spend some resources on some continuation of flushing out what few designs really don’t make the cut upon feedback and release, instead of spending the resources on implementing an entirely new system to the game. Transmog may even promote only a few designs (or items) as being desirable, where as flushing out a plethora of thorough designs is what I think would lend to D2’s charm.
I personally hate transmog, in d3 and Poe most ppl turn their char into clown’s, and with the pet’s it sometimes even disgust me, but if there is a toggle, at least I can stop this immersion breakers.
But I bet they won’t do such thing, would enrage the veterans.
I would prefer more faithful char models, really
Really against transmog. If it were another game I didn’t care about as much my opinion might be different, but items are too iconic in D2. I know a lot of people wont understand, but Diablo is a special game to many and little things like this matter a lot. In a game like WoW it makes more sense because there are so many items and so much potential for that system, with new stuff being added all the time. Items don’t feel so special at this point in WoW to justify not having transmog. Items in D2 aren’t over the top or flashy like other games, either, and sometimes it’s hard to distinguish pieces of gear. I don’t think transmog is a good fit for this game.
It may seem like a small thing but I’d be pretty disappointed if they added it. Gear in D2 is special and needs to maintain it’s identity.
Especially if done like the OP suggested and tying it to killing ubers. That means if you have a piece of transmog, you’ve done the hardest thing in this game. Besides, there’s literally no use for the Standard of Heroes, this could give it a niche.
Because shako is not vampire gaze, if you see a vampire gaze on a caster there is a pblm, hence it totally ruins the immersion for me, mayb not for you.
For me, items in D2 are really iconic, it’s the total opposite of d3.
D2 is the only game where I know every single unique, it’s simple, I know them all, even the shiettiest. Hence I still try to finish my holy grail, and I miss a lot, like wf, tyrael, stormlash, etc etc.
If a guy use shako, I don’t want to see arreat face skin, etc.
I try to explain my feeling with my horrible English.
I just love to see chars In lobbies, and being able to know a good part of their stuff just by looking at the lil avatar
I just don’t understand why ppl try to bring d3 into D2, just, why ?
Isn’t it better to play d3 or wait d4 ??
I love D2 as it is. Few Qol are good, bringing the vomit color item fest of transmog is another.
But , once again if there is a toggle it’s fine for me.
I just hope they will use their precious time to fix important things, not converting D2 into d3, please God, no.
No thanks. That was a feature added to D3 by a WoW fan by the name of Jay Wilson. It can go right back to WoW and hopefully isn’t included in Diablo IV.
There’s a reason that trash bucket isn’t leading the design of another AAA title.
Not because somebody used something to do something bad that it means that thing is always bad
Just because D3 had transmog that it means it has to be done the same way in D2R, the way I proposed is super respectful of the original material, it’s even more respectful than the original game itself since it increases the visibility of All unique design no matter what level or utility they have

How can people turn into clowns if the only assets available to use are the already existing item Arts
