You literally can already do this very easy, just join any random game that is completed fast (Baal, chaos etc.) and then you can do this. Adding the feature is far more than just random players crying for more loot/exp. Its to stop other random MF’ers ruining public games. Its to give the game more of a challenge when your mates are offline. Instead of just joining another split MF server or ruining a random lvling game. You can instead clear from act1-5 and not have to constantly spam the servers further stress the servers.

That “fools gold” is the only thing that kept the d2 economy alive for over a decade before D2R came along.
It sounds to me like you solved your own problem.
It is the entire reason that over 80% of every first character is a sorc. People end up more spread out at the end. That is purely visible as a problem, and is alienation. It’s forcing people to play classes they don’t care for, because of a single ability.
Its not about how important bots were, its about how terrible 1.10 was.
