We need the ability via cube to chance items like in D3. A rare for a unique. A set item for another set item. Blizzard, let’s go.
NO, we don’t.
Blizzard don’t listen to the d3 crowd.
No we don’t need Kanai’s Cube in D2. Sorry.
With materials harvested with my Witch Doctor, I was able to self power-level up and almost fully gear a Monk with Innas Fire Ally set in about 3 hours time. We don’t need zoomzoom progression in D2.
I can kindly confirm that I am very much a member of the D2 crowds. I’ve been a member of the D2 crowd since 2001, preordered and purchased the Collector’s Edition from EB games. I own 2 copies of D2+Lod, a German copy of D2+Lod (packaged in a double DVD case, purchased while vacationing in Munich) and now D2R. All physical items are in pristine mint condition, manuals all in OWL 10 grade, vacuum sealed.
Point being, I am the ultimate D2 fan and stand by my post, hoping for improvements to D2R. Go play classic if you disagree.
nope terrible idea, D3 is a failure, don’t bring that crap to D2
go play D3 if you want that. It would ruin the economy
You mean it would ruin the thriving bot economy and disrupt proliferating jsp cheaters?
Good for you mate. I too am playing d2 from the very beginning. I even had to replace my PC next day after release, as my back then current setup was not supported by d2 (3dfx Voodoo). Anyway, your idea doesn’t belong to this game and would make it far, FAR too easy.
Go play classic if you disagree? No. I go play d2r and disagree, because I can. This is what forums are for.
Good day.
EDIT: deleted my initial response as I missclicked and replied to myself.
The economy is fine, I can still trade my items for what I want. Your idea would ruin the D2 experience. It makes no difference how long you been playing the game. The idea is not for this game
Please explain what do you mean. How should it work exactly, tell me example.
For example, putting a rare hydra bow, pjewel of every kind, 10mill gold into cube makes windforce.
Then no, it would be too easy to make elite unique items.
No, those things need to remain hard to find. A loot hunt game without any items to chase after will mean you are done playing real fast. This is not D3 where you can get what you want within a few minutes of playing.
I don’t necessarily agree but it’s funny watching people hate on accessing uniques that are largely outclassed by runewords and rares.
That example isn’t chance. It’s you crafting a Windforce lol.
I wouldn’t be opposed to a reroll recipe for sets and uniques tho. It would reroll into any random set piece or unique item. Try to turn Clegaw Sword into a Tals. Turn a Iron Jang [CENSORED LOL] into a Grandfather. 2 mid or high runes (like lem/vex) perf… diamond and required RARE jewel. You want a shot? Pay up! Prolly gonna be disappointed tho like with most rerolls lol.
Or make it tiered. Norms for norm recipe. Elite for elite.
As others have said, this would be incredibly easy to obtain elite uniques that are otherwise very rare, whether useful or not.
I could see a recipe to reroll a unique for a chance at better stats, but that also means a chance for lower stats. You would still have to find said unique the old fashioned way of course.
Generally speaking D2 and D3 treat their loot in fundamentally different ways, so it’s really not a good idea to try to duplicate D3’s methods of getting loot in D2.
For example, uniques and sets in D3 are build enablers, so you cannot afford to be missing some pieces, while in D2, they are just strong items, which you can play without, and can be outclassed by other rarities depending on the needs of your build.
That being said, I have nothing against Mitsufunk’s idea of a recipe to reroll a unique or set item’s variables, as the gains you would be able to get from it are very reasonable in comparison to the input.
