I would guess one of these.
Subpar farming route , subpar build choice, over these 20 years you played on and off and maybe a āfewā hours a week (since i doubt you actually played 8+ hours a day for 20 years), you probably have mf gear + gheed in your inventory, mf does not help finding runes replace it with a skiller or dmg/ar charm. It is almost impossible you havenāt seen a jah, 2 bers or 4 surs during 20 years of actively playing.
The chance of looting a bunch of high runes during that long play time is HIGH, it is simply impossible to not find HRs unless you have zero idea what you are doing.
Oh, I have found other high runes (3 Ber, 2 Cham, 2 Surs, 2 Lo) I have just never found a Jah. Since I play single player, its not like I can trade these other high runes for the Jah that I need.

For everybody claiming āit is easy to find high runesā I would guess one of these:
RMT
Botting
Duping

I claim too they are bit too low, but instead of complaining Iāve increased them by 10%, and Iām satisfied with results - runes like Vex+ are still rare, but not crazy rare as in original game; however Iām able to assemble higher runes consistently, as for a game session which lasts ~2-4h I usually get at least one rune like Pul-Gul.

The most fun of that was that you people seem to think that farming countess, andariel and mephisto for days should net you a lot of high runes. You can either learn how to farm high runes or keep whining about drop rates that are not even impossible to find if you put the time into it.
iām talking from like 2000, from LoD. iāve probably found 6 jah since d2:r and i havenāt been playing the whole time. not even close. havenāt found a single cham tho 
i seem to only find the useful ones hah. no zod either, but like 15 sur. and like 7-8 ber.
i keep screenshots of most of my rune finds, some was unable because group play / snatching fast etc. but when i play solo i always take a screenshot and i canāt count how many HR screenshots i have currently.
we even found OHM on NM TZ on like day 2 one season (as a group) but it was all friends i got the picture !

Thereās only one reason Iām even remotely motivated to try to play Diablo 2 at all anymore. And that was to make a pair of Mosaics for an assassin.
Yeah, yeah, Iāve glanced at some of the Whining about how OP it all is.
But to be honest. Even that bit of equipment is out of range for a normal player like me because of the drop ratesā¦ and you canāt make it outside of Ladder.
Soā¦ you tell me. WTF motivation do I have to come back. Since SSF P8 is currently a priority for if I did come back? IF I canāt build the one and only reason Iād be coming back?

As for the rest of the losers who want to reply about how I play the game inefficientlyā¦ Donāt. Iām not listening . Your arguments are hollow and full of crap. Because they ignore reality. Diablo 2 is actually a crap game, that does not justify the amount of hours you think need to be invested into it.

I didnāt say thay you SHOULD play 8 hours a day. I said i find it hard to believe (read almost impossible) that you have not found a HR for 20 years. I play 5 hours a week and got fully equipped chars.
Well i like d2 if you donāt that is fine, but why change d2 into some generic trash when there already are an abundance of crappy games on the market?
You donāt have to play through your 600 games but you want to. If d2 is so bad and you got your nostalgia trip why donāt you move on?

My personal opinion: under no circumstances should a player be expected to āfarmā anything for days. That sounds beyond dumb. I am not a robot.
Then donāt? Play something that is more your kind of game. D2r is a remaster and it did the job fine preserving what kept people playing for years. If you want to be bis within days of casually playing there are other games.

Iāve taken to only playing single player, and duping runes ad nauseum. I was able to import a bunch of characters from D2LoD where I had easily duped things with PlugY. So far I have been horribly disappointed by the tiny power increases the top end runewords give, especially that one that takes 3 Jahs. This is not worth 20+ years of playing on and off 
(technically āinfiniteā for me, as I still have never seen a single Jah rune drop) It is nifty to be able to stack two of them on a barbarian merc, however. I wish they would add more changes like that 
I still havenāt run the Ubers in D2R because I got bored and moved on to other games 
( I did collect a key set in single player and dupe it, so no more entry-fee for me to experience content 
whenever I come back to itā¦ in a few years?)
Some people just have anger towards those us with shorter attention spans. If not anger, at least no patience for us or our requests

I still prefer playing online with other people with crap gear. Too bad the online seasons are only fun for a day or two before most people move into private-game-only magic finding .
I really wish they would add personal loot, then maybe more people would still play together past the 2 days of leveling Maybe. I suspect low drop rates might still chase most people off after a week or two.

The good news about Diablo 2 LoD is that you donāt need the best gear to beat the game in all three difficulties. You donāt even need the best gear to set up a decent magic find character. Sadly thatās what a lot of people donāt understand about this gameā¦ Those ultra super awesome cookie cutter builds that you find online? Yeah, they are the best of the best of the best builds that would take a solo player YEARS to find on their own without trading.
Stop drooling over the items you want and play with the items you have. The game is easier than you think without the top end builds/items you see on Youtube/Icyveins/Maxroll.
RMT botters/websites prey upon people who drool over those high end items. Thatās why they have proliferated as long as they have.

Itās even more unfortunate they cannot admit to themselves this game is not for themā¦ and simply leave to play something elseā¦ as, they only torture themselves.
Please understand the above comment(s) come from a guy playing 2 Zealots, and 2 ZooKeepers (super crappy rune hunters)ā¦ and to top that off, 99% of the time I play Soloā¦ in password protected P1 games.
Either make a character that is good at dropping runes, and play the multi-player games to your advantge, or, shut the cake hole and play the way you like to play with the results associated from doing soā¦

Iāve found a few Jah runes. Iāve yet to find a Cham, Sur or Zod.
