[Main Thread] Can't connect to server & Offline 30 days error - Jan 15th 2024

I’m just getting cannot connect to server

Same here, either “Failed to authenticate. Please try again.” or “Cannot Connect to Server”. I only had a small window to play, now it’s gone…

I have the same problem

Xbox here, both my wife and i are getting the failed to authenticate bs

Got on with Xbox tech support. It’s fully a blizzard issue. Factory reset didn’t do a thing either… it’s annoying they won’t even say there is a problem they are working to address. Guess I’ll call it a day.

Thanks blizzard for blowing a lot of our days off from work lol

I am having the same issue. Is there any fix for this?

Same thing. 2 of my accounts are affected by this - “Failed to authenticate” then “Cannot connect to server”. No matter what - reinstall both D2R and battle net app, cleared battle net cache, flushed DNS, renewed IP - all this will not help. Problem is on Blizzard side somewhere.
My 3 other accounts are working perfectly fine - no issues logging on/off, changing regions, etc. Cannot play together with kids because of this.

Alright guys… Some things that the company will not announce and going to shed some light on this…

Blizzard does not have the proper number of employed people to work as tech support / GMs regarding tech issues. Because Diablo 2 has always been a community put on the back burner, despite it being one of their more successful games that continues to thrive. It still doesnt warrant them as a business to pay out money to someone to over see your concerns.

After reading all the comments regarding not being able to connect and that youre only able to play offline… There is genuine one or two reasons for this.

The fact that Blizzard is more then aware of the situation? The fact that they have not made any official announcement into the rhyme to their reason… I think we can agree that our expectations as a paid / paying customer to a company that doesnt offer a real tech support and is handled by a case by case basis… are just that… our expectations are too high… Im more then willing to bet, that say they resolve the problem? There will be no official announcement as to what and why it happened. Because there is no official post from them indicating their known down time and a post with an ETA.

BLIZZARD IS DEAD YOU GUYS ~~ So either sit around and wait for it to resolve or come back tomorrow and see if it allows you to connect.

I get rid of this message by clearing battle net cache - delete folders “Blizzard Entertainment” and “Battle.net” in “%ProgramData%” and “%LOCALAPPDATA%” folders (Press WinKey+R then type this names without double quotes). At least you will be able to play offline after that.

Online play is still not available if your account is affected by this.

Just to prove my point… They will moderate the forum and lock everyones complaint posts / threads… But no one will directly respond as to why this occurred…
