I am having the same experience.
Yeah, my main character is stuck in ācharacter is already in a gameā. So I tried playing a second character that I had created and it said that I wasnāt online. So I tried using that second character to join an existing game via lobby and just got a perpetual black screen.
The only option is to kill the game in Task Manager
Unfortunately, the problem is still occurring even though maintenance seems to be complete. Also having issues with characters non populating in the character selections screen and sometimes getting a message saying that my character is already in game.

Initially my character stopped showing up after defeating Baal. Now my character is back but I cannot play because I get the message that my character is in a game.

I have the same issue canāt play with any character. When iām trying to play with my main character then i got message that im already in game, and if iām trying to play another one or create new one then iāve got blackscreen.

same here. what is really frustrating is that there was no warning of any kind in game before the maintenance which bricked my account.
