Lets explain what sunder charms do

Lawbringer is dirt cheap… Can graduate to a Reaper’s Toll mercs.

Realistically, any melee that stumbles across the charm should already have some means of decrep…

Well I like to play Javazon, no shame in that.

Yeah but difference for most builds is not that significant and for most it only means more options where to farm.

If you have coldsorc without sunder charm you farm ancient tunnels with monsters at -100. Now just have just more places to go.

If you play fire sorc and have that infinity and facets you talk about, you farm stony tomn with -100% resist monsters without sunder charm already.

Melee? Melee didnt have problems to farm because of immunes so you dont need the charm anyway. Similar case as hammerdin. Barbarian can already farm whole game and rare immunes? You just use lawbringer and farm them with 0% resist. Only like 3 monsters in act 5 are exception. Basicly only monster who can be issue are physical immune death lords as they have also high magic resist.

Barb is definitely winner in 2.5 patch. Because unlike others, he doesnt need sunder charm to farm anything in terror zones amd he has quite good mobility, second best in classes.

Disagree with plenty about the barbarian.

Still, lets leave them alonem at least there still remains a challenge in this game. Let sleeping dogs lie.

Otherwise, they qill shoot thunderbolts out their eyes which clear entire areas.

Lets face it, the devs cant make change in moderation.

You said you disagree but didnt explain one signle thing why.

It’s not like the classes have tools to farm anywhere… The players just go all in for 1 thing and takes longer to handle areas with immunities.

And is then bailed out from the drawbacks of their focused/pigeonholed builds to farm at insane speeds everywhere. Yay. On p1, right? Right?

Barbarians need the best gear. Unless you have oath plus, you cannit even do the den of evil. Decrep is bloody amazing, and lawbringer is cheap - but you cant have it with axes or maces unkess you find a caduceus which has plenty of problems. Also, decrep more than likely wont break your phys immunes.

Sure, sunder. But then die in 1 or 2 hits from -dr. Its easy enough to die with perf string, which awards 15% leaving a defecit of 10%. Or you could go and get some Bers for CoH and a gface - a tall order which prevents you from having fortitude, an um or a cham. Guess what, its still dogcrap even after that.

Barbarians have cool skills, i love them. But try maxing them out. You cannot, as you do not have enough points to do so.

Attack is a sticking point. Angelics take away other required traits which others would usually enjoy.

The backbone of the barbarian in group play is BO, which others can get COA for. Its not as good, but its still plenty good.

You know yiur stuff. Grab a grief and death and then go do cows. See how you get on.

No play a cold sorc, a hammerdin, or a plethora of other builds. Click once, twice or sometimes no times at all. Ta da, the game is won and yiu have killed every single entity in the game.

The point was always that hammerdins found content too easy. Show me the fix. The problem has been compounded.

Leave the barb alone. Leave at least a small feaction of a game with a chaplenge involved.

Not true, i had quite budget gear and was doing fine when i was playing barb even on HC, just start is rough, but thats not issue online to get some good level.

It doesnt need to, sanctuary means that undead phys immune monster will have 0%.

Why would you die?, one howl and nothing touch you with exception of elites. And as i explainee, barb doesnt need sunder charm anyway. Lawbringe solves immunes.

Oh yes i get edited for 2 letters, and the YouTube guy is allowed to post whatever he want noone cares even after i flagged it…

Dont know about you but ill be using the cold sunderer charm on my bear & wolf over phys.

Hurricane hybrid bear/wolf is the only semi-viable farmer in d2r. That is until they allow teleport inform for shifters- then the hybrid jumps uo to viable (not super op, but viable)

Please blizzard allow teleport inform for shifters

I feel the physical sunder charms should grant melee splash damage in addition to breaking physical immunity. The damage taken needs to be dropped to 5%

does the - to bone break sundering apply to my bone armour skill?

ok few questions… why was this bumped. ?the sunder charms have changed to now properly work at 1/5th ( except cold mastery for some reason)
i assume you are talking about the - resists from the amp like effect. as bone armor doesnt do damage.
so to answer your question:
The - resist does not matter when bone armor is taking damage
you don’t take less damage to bone amor for having a stormshield . or more damage from having bone break.
skills like energy shield, cyclone armor, and bone armor all absord damage before resists

Damage is applied in a predetermined order. It is as follows:
1) XvX penalty (for example Player vs. Player = -5/6)
2) Sorceress Energy Shield
3) Necromancer Bone Armor and/or Druid Cyclone Armor
4) Integer DR/MDR
5) Percentage resists (including DR%)
6) Percentage absorb
7) Integer absorb

obviously once your bone armor is gone you will take damage amplifed as normal
as your ppercentage resist in physial ( DR%) will likely be negative unless u have a lot of items like stormshield or things with a Ber in it like enigma

i like to have overcapped reses to cover for lower resist curse in chaos and now i have to find ~70 more resist which didnt seem fun at all. so im back to playing a hammerdin which doesnt need a sundercharm lol

boring new “feature” imo. probably more fun in softcore where you just dont give a damn lol

cheers thanks alot for answering this for me awesome

Melee fighters are almost one of the most exciting current games. I have created a Dragon-Tail Assa and played a bit. The kick clears well and the Assa sprints with speed shoes and the speed buff already much too fast through the area.

But you still have to get to the mobs, hit and then there is a moderate AE kick that brings down everything in the vicinity. The shoes are more important than the weapon which rather brings stats… One can say, an exciting thing.
But even here you are already far beyond a healthy level.

So if we are talking about whether Melees are too bad, the fault is rather that the game is much more inflated in casters. We can start the spiral and buff all the melees now too. The game is becoming more and more simple and insignificant.
Oh let’s give the mobs then any buff and the game world is again one level richer in the spiral.

All this is no good…
What needs to be done is to ground the whole game. This affects many aspects and you should just hide it behind an add on and make a cut and reset everything, downgrade items, adjust skills, leave out immunities, just more RPG game and less number games, mass kills and speed…

I don’t understand mathematics, or any of the concepts explained. I have only a simple question: will sunder charms make it possible for my lightning trapsin to overvome immunities? Its the only build and class that I enjoy, and I won’t be returning unless it benefits from the new mechanics.

This the second time I ask that question without getting a definite answer. Is it really that complicated?

YES…
with Light-Sunder it removes the lightning immunity for his traps, BUT it’s not functional, he needs items with -res light (facets, etc)

Okay, thanks. I have a Shako with lighting facet on ny non ladder trapsin, gonna log in tomorrow then.
