Lazy But Effective Way to Buff Melee?

Removing phyisical immunes from pve Sounds fair and effective to me.

Easy
Wont hurt anything
SPeed up the farms

ETC ETC

DOesnt effect pvp too.
(unless golem or reanimates in pvp is somehow tie to pve)

Let the others cry if that change is so bad to the game…lol

You guys should try playing a melee build vs a caster build in offline p8 untwinked. It’s a night and day difference.

The only “melee” build that can compete with casters is Pallies with Holy Fire/Freeze/Shock because the aura AOE basically allows for single target focusing of uniques monsters

I wouldnt know yet. Its been like 7 or 8 months or something crazy like that and i still dont have my pvp character built yet. They wont let me find items. The appear to have erased hi rune drops from the game too. Its crazy. Took me like 4 months to get a cham to drop… WOrthless rune…

I would say make a Plague but the developers, in their infinite wisdom, decided that the lower resistance proc should be “when struck” instead of “on strike”

Literally 3 builds in game that do poison damage and 2 are ranged and rabies is just bad :rofl:

I did make a plague. I watched one of those you tuber streamer guys say that you could make a plague and it would work on non ladder. It was ok with a mercenary, but then blizzard decided to wipe the runewords. So i lost the only high rune i found since i bought this game…

It works offline not non-ladder. That was a bug. The fix definitely wasn’t the best best solution either…

Plague on merc is a cheaper, less dependable, and not as effective Infinity. Level 12 lower resist barely breaks any resistances and lower resistance actually doesn’t break most poison resistance in the game… :rofl:

the duel wield merc can use it with grief plague and guilliams. armor can be whatever. Fort, shaftstop.

it was crap for me though cuz the damage too low . Cant make a high damage eth roll for a player since its destructible,.

Its just merc toy.

Armor has to be low defense. The less the merc gets hit, the lower the proc frequency.

The only use on a player is for Rabies druid and he really doesn’t need much physical damage.

I don’t know… it does nothing to buff melee in a general sense, and, to be honest, it’s the only monster type in the game that makes me swap weapons, which, makes things interesting… I like the challenge and/or the requirement to pay attention.
Not arguing, just discussing.

I forget what year, probably like 2005 to 2007 or so, They had to remove Iron Maiden from PVE because melee characters just couldnt progress.

You couldnt do a chaos run or a baal walk…

It was just a horrible to lose all your xp.

Now we just get no drops, So i think removing physical immunes is the answer to more kills for melee to be still far from on par with aoe but more effective.

I dont think we can say the physical immunity problem is as significant as the iron maiden one.

I dont like the thought of losing physical immunes. There are work arounds already - amp, decrepify, elemental damage, so on. It isnt a problem that needs fixing.

Melee could use more though.

i just remember playing follow the leader in chaos games back in the day, You had to be the loot bully or the first time you swing you would one shot yourself.

Then we had to wait until the throne was clear and still be in fear of wave 2 ball run before you was confident enough to swing attack.

The good old days. Man i miss the old LOD. This new stuff not as good as the original.

I recall the iron maiden deal, my melee char’s (only character I’ve ever played) always ran with a throw weapon on swap to deal with it… very slowly… I didn’t play online back then, and, that was the only solution I was able to come up with… along with Act1 merc, which is still my favorite.

This is why SSF Ladder is silly , classes not even remotely close to equal.

That really just depends on the class. 1 point in Zerk to counter physical immunes isn’t bad but such options don’t exist for Amazon, Druid, Paladin, or Assassin.

You are then dependent on 1 piece of gear to make or break your build… Hardly a balanced approach…
