Jah rune value?

You think that’s crazy? You should have seen the prices high runes were selling for when the game was released.

I mean you can beat the game with pretty budget crap gear, you don’t even need to play to find all that top end gear yourself… Just the same brain chemicals that cause gambling addiction and related mental illness

At 57 dollars, it’s a steal.

It takes one player about 1000 hours to find a Jah rune, or 200 hours to find materials worth a Jah rune.

…200 hours vs…
What does your job pay per hour…?

It’s pretty simple math.
I’d rather work 2 hours than 200 hours for the same outcome.

I recently got one for Sur/Ohm/vex if that helps

technically yes, but considering the whole game is about FINDING gear, what is the point playing if you buy your end gear and then have nothing to grind for?

I believe you’re mistaking entertainment as a job. A job is something you do to support yourself and your family. Video games is entertainment, something to do to relax, have fun, enjoy playing. If you pay so you don’t have to play the game, then why do it?

I’m not entertained by repeating the same process thousands of times if nothing changes.
I play games to escape tedious repetition.

To avoid repetion, something needs to change.
A level.
A good drop.
At some point, there are no good drops except high runes and keys.
And then, when you have decent torches, there’s only high runes left to find.

And there’s a disconnect there somewhere, between rare items and high runes.

I have trouble understanding how people can not consider finding high runes worse than going to work, with the tedious repetition necessary to actually farm them effectively, like running hundreds of cow runs over the course of a weekend.

…and would you sell one for that price…?

I’d never sell one for that price:
Not until I had 10 would I even consider selling the 11th for 100$.
The time it takes to find one is worth so much more than 100$, literally hundreds of hours of grinding.

Now the price is this because of all the china farmers.

If I would have found a ber or jah at the start I would have ebayed it immediately. People bought it for 1000 $ lol
people are just nuts

Didn’t know people sell in game stuff for real money. What’s the point of playing? Why not just hire someone to level up and dress your Barb in BIS?

Then literally don’t play games bro that’s what they about. RNG machines to get the dopamine going, like anything pleasurable in life. Plus its a check list of achievements to do. You get better, more efficient and win. If all you can see is grind then you miss the point and everyone laughs at people who p2w is sad, real sad. Those people also usually suck at the game tho so i totally get it not everyone can be PoG

Sorry to necro this but need jah price, found a Lo from a chest (felt so much better then paying $35 USD lol) so i recon ill have enough to trade up with other runes. Plus this thread is abit of a laugh!

It’s funny how this person is breaking down the whole thing about “It takes 1000 hours to farm a Jah… How much does your real life job pay?”

Hello. You just described perfectly what is wrong with this game.

At No point should players be thinking, well I make this much an hour… So I’ll just buy one off Ebay.

You’re literally advocating to keep Diablo 2 Drops rates abysmal so people can sell the crap on e-bay as their day job.

You’re on the wrong side of this issue.

In a round about way, what you just said is everyone should just quit playing this game and any amount of Hours they would have spent playing Diablo 2, would have been better spent puting overtime in at their job.

So they can then come home and turn Diablo 2 into a Pay to Win game.

Eat S.H.I.T. That’s a stupid economy. For a Video game.

TL:DR. Purists want Diablo 2 to be Pay2Win. Purists can’t find real jobs, so they have to E-Bay HR’s to survive.

I droped a ber and a jah in the same week, so 1000 hours nah… just luck
and then the week after I droped another jah

all in a 2 players game doing Nihlathak runs

Nobody cares what you dropped. Most of us play this game solo. You dropping HR, does not fix the fact that the game refuses to drop HR’s for me.

Why are my drop rates accounting for millions of other players I have no interactions with?

MY drop rate has to be 1:10000000 because you assume that everyone trades or buys their crap on Ebay? You’re wrong.

My gameplay is not ruined because 100 other people built an Enigma.

But if I built an Enigma, aparrently you can’t enjoy Diablo 2 anymore.

YOU ARE WRONG!

here you can see the trade value of Jah
diablo2 io
and its now down to 25$ on ah site

i would never ever in my life pay for any ingame item and i do have a very good job, it wouldn’t even hurt the slightest.
But i want to have the feeling of having achieved everything on my own. ingame trading is still fine because to get something i need i offer something that i have achieved myself aswell. if i’d pay just one little penny for anything i know 100% i will lose the motivation to continue playing.
The feeling of having a jah or ber dropped after so many hours is so amazing to me. now if i bought that jah rune with real money and then later i find another jah rune, it would give me nothing hype-wise

20 years later to finally see a HR drop… The feeling from that wouldn’t last long enough to make up for it.

2 seconds of "FINALLY!!! OMG!.. vs 20 years of emulating a bot.

The payoff is not worth it. I’d get as much enjoyment out of paying for the HR honestly at that rate. Because I’d enjoy the fact that I didn’t have emulate a bot to get to it. I’d be able to put myself in the frame of mind to enjoy what the HR created rather than spending 20 years just trying to farm one out.

IE. By the time I would make an enigma, legit. I’d be sick of the game already to not even be able to enjoy it once I did build it.

Seriously, if It takes 2,000,000 runs to build an Enigma, there’s no time left to actually enjoy the enigma. That game is getting uninstalled until next year, next ladder, by the time it reaches this point.

just a little note i already have found 3 jahs and 2 bers. its not like you need to give up your life for that…

Easy and totally free fix to your problem:

  • Play offline
  • Open HeroEditor
  • Put high runes in your inventory

Don’t have to “emulate a bot” oe anything. That said if you feel you are emulating a bot why do you play in the first place?

I play the game to have fun and the moment I don’t have fun I play something else, simple and no matter how many HR I did ort I didn’t drop.

I see a lot of people making claims that they dropped many HR, I will highly doubt it, MrLamaSc dropped his first Ber a few days ago and he plays the game pretty much 24/7.

Yeah, good advice, defeat the WHOLE purpose of the game, to fix the dumb drop rates.

Do you listen to the argument you put forth?
