It's Sad How More and More The New Diablo 4

just focus on d2r. We dont need d3d4d5 or bla bla bla

Except D2R’s changed being too…The Trolls insist upon it two of which have said so in this thread…The same way D3 was for the worse

If they focused only on D2:R, that would send the franchise into a financial death spiral.

That’s a matter of opinion.

i mean d2r players can focus on dr2 only as d3 d4 are quite different from d2r.

D4 has a nice dark atmo and it certainly seems like the game world hosts a really fat story in the char and the areas.
But as soon as the combat and animations start, D4 drops 2 levels. There is way too much D3 in it and it seems boring and consistently monotonous, too fast and too much skill game.

Then again the flying damage numbers… I really hope they can turn off all this overloaded crap…
But the worst thing is and remains, the focus on endgame, speed and balance, and the sports game character.

The movements were too smooth and monotonous. And then it’s paced too high and the characters have such dodge rolls and lightning fast attack turbos, and dash forward and backward.

A lot of people think that’s good gameplay. I don’t think this is the kind of gameplay that makes a good horror-survival RPG. It’s more of a skill game all the time, with reaction testing and it feels more like a certain level of sports game.

At least they’ve tried to incorporate the skills again, which is what RPGs are all about.
However, I have a slight suspicion that everything will eventually be subordinated to the comparison and the balance, as well as the endgame with its number spirals.
But that’s exactly what stands against RPG. There are the differences and the completely different feeling, including strengths and weaknesses, what makes it, as well as the game world itself, which you play.
Here, the game should have been broadened and more adventure should have been brought in. In addition, the focus on the game as a player should be made clear and you shouldn’t even think about getting through and any kind of endgame.

But that is permanently the main idea. It’s just that RPGs have to have an end, and if they do, then you play 3-4 difficulty levels, but there is no end game.
As long as the RPGs, again and again any end-game scenarios on top, we just do not get a foot in the door for a really good role-playing game.
Endgame games, eat up all the RPGs and players fixate on the set up game, after the actual game, which seems powerless and soulless to have no meaning…
But there are so many mistakes you make because of this, in building a real RPG.
How long will I watch this same nonsense over and over again?
More than 1 decade guaranteed. And again and again, instead of building gripping RPGs, you build end-game games and all the while suppress RPGs and its content.

A terribly awful state of affairs!

POE is :poop:. And shouldn’t be an etalon in ARGPs. Nor compared to any Diablo game.

I’m not too surprised. It’s basically copy and paste from Diablo III, slightly change game mechanics and better graphics. Everything else is just bland, lacked “wow” factor. Thus, I am not willing to support Diablo IV.

Plus they’ve eliminated one of the few remaining skills of the Amazon, Strafe

Anyone else think that firey snake spell looks like some cheap effect that doesn’t really fit in as a Diablo spell?

I can’t think of the right word, but it’s over the top and it’s something that would have been cut out from a more experienced creative director.

Actually, I know what it is. It’s form vs function. This snake spell completely disregards function as a Diablo spell. It looks like a cheap effect in After Effects just drag and dropped on top.

And then don’t even get me started on the Hydras. Why do the D2R Hydras look like gothic beasts, and the D4 Hydras look like skinny sewer rats?

D4 being build on top of the D3 engine is somewhat of a turn off to me but we will see how the rest is going. When it was first announced it definitely felt like a reskin of D3 with some changes but now being closer to release, it look OK.

Actually it looks and sounds like your one of the Diablo III Fanboys :face_with_hand_over_mouth: I sugest you go back to that and leave Diablo II alone <_< PS I did play the Beta and wasn’t impressed

For pvm and suiting up a build, it is but pvp us severely lacking in D3!

Pvp isn’t lacking in D3 it’s completely absent lol

Indeed it is, and I am a professional in my opinions . First of all, you are making the assumption that I left playing D3, I can do both, they are not mutually exclusive games.

Doing so gives me a good perspective on the strengths and weaknesses of both games. It also gives me the confidence to discuss game mechanics in detail, which I am happy to engage with you anytime.

Having said that, your invitation is not necessary nor are you a gatekeeper to allow me or anyone here to come and go as you see fit.

Well said. No one is attacking LOD, its still there in all its glory.

I don’t play D2 anymore. Have you tried D2 LOD, D2R or Diablo III: Reaper of Souls? All excellent games. And no, I won’t tell you what to play, I am not rude like that.

This statement just proved my point but you said I’m wrong?

This was also proven wrong in bots vs player races in many discords.

Wrong. Shifters cannot use teleport. They literally cannot cast it while shifted.

That’s because your opinion is based on 3 wrong statements.

In my opinion, you were being rude. You are telling a stranger to delete a game from their system that they paid for and have every right as you do to come to these forums and express their opinion.

I don’t know what you mean by “Your suggestions were literally implemented in d3”. Can you quote my suggestion(s) I made in this thread?

You have an issue with telling other people what to do. I never directly told you to do anything, yet you are happy to tell other people what to do. We all purchased this game, we all have the same rights as you do to come here and express our opinions.

In my opinion, you are wrong. Your mindset to keep things the way they are with no need for improvements is what will kill excitement for the game. Based on Blizzards actions, it seems they also agree with my way of thinking. I could be wrong, but I doubt it.

D2R is unique game. I say keep all the diablo different. We don’t need 3 copies of the same game.

D3 copied a lot from D2 and sprinkles in a few new things here and there. I can’t expect D4 to be any different. It will copy a lot from D3, some from D2, and sprinkle in a few new things here and there. If D4 is half as much fun as D2 was in its day and D3 now, I’m good. I’m not a game snob. I play to have fun. If D4 winds up not being fun, there is stills D3, D2, and other games.

It’s the exact opposite of yours so no.

I highly doubt that. A bot can farm 24/7 for months. Players can’t. Not talking about 2 weeks or shorter periods for people that want to beat the challenge and have no life besides d2 grinding.

Shifters aren’t a class. Druids are. Druids in human form can cast teleport as much as they want. Shifters can return to human form port and go back to were forms. So your statement is still as wrong as it gets.

Nope. It’s because you wrote a lot of nonsense and personal opinion like they were facts
