It's clear we need more content. Let's be constructive!

In that case I apologize.

I agree that Diablo 2 needs a little more end-game content. Perhaps implementing another type of monster drop, like the colored essences, or uber keys/parts, that opens a portal to a zone like the Chaos Sanctuary would be a fun end-game addition. It does not have to be a Chaos Sanctuary carbon copy, but having a zone that forces the player to use a seal to summon a named monster, and once all seals and monsters have been killed, it summons a boss monster (Which could be randomized), that concept would be a fun end-game farm. Especially if it could guarantee 1 Rune drop of… let’s say anywhere from Lum to Zod. Are you guaranteed an HR? No, but the chances of getting one are pretty good. This also means that the materials to make the portal to this “Chaos Sanctuary” are a new form of currency to trade for items/runes.

This is by no means a perfect solution, but it does add end-game content, and could possibly get you the gear you need to get stronger

The key part that sticks out of that is:

The game doesn’t need easy ways to get high runes. High runes are supposed to be hard to find.

Still make them hard to find. Are you guaranteed a 20/20 Pally or Sorc torch when you do ubers? No, and any other class or any low rolls make the torch practically garbage in most people’s eyes. But people will trade good runes or items for the ingredients to run ubers in the chance that they hit the RNG jackpot. Just make this the same, in the fact that people would trade stuff at the chance that they would hit a jackpot in there. Make any rune lower than a Lem more common to drop, Pul - Ist very uncommon, and anything more than that a very rare occurrence

You don’t understand what I messaged by my reply. I was against about ciriticizing * people *, not ideas. It is even stated in a little hint text when you type a post in this forum. Calling someone “a reddit troll” is not constructive in any way.

Not a purist andy and hell yes let them add stuff, but if they do some rift bs then I am out (maps are fine though).

I did as you suggested. I agree that some ideas appearing there are like rocket fuel when we try to step on a thin line between original experience and improvements and someone could call it a trolling. Personally I will just stick to not answering to “unsalvageable” topics.

I vote for a expansion. If you dont like the content you can choose not to buy it. If you find yourself playing with only a few people left behind then it is pretty safe to say that most people want new stuff.

And I dont care about the “its a remaster not a remake” nonsense. Being a remaster doesn’t make it illegal to add content to the game. They are already adding stuff anyways. Besides Warcraft Reforged was suppose to be a lot more than a remaster and in the end we just got a inferior product with a reskin.

I can almost guarantee there won’t be an expansion with the list of Blizzard products already in the works. Unless they get a third party to completely write and design a new story extension which I think even Blizzard might draw the line at.

Well it should be an easy call

You have somebody just suggesting improvements to the game, wether you like them or not is up to you

And you have some people who insult him, personally attack him, dog pile, derail his posts, call for others to mass flag him as a troll just because they disagree with his view of the game

Imho it’s an easy who is ilintended and who is just passionate

I agree with you on all that, though it is sometimes hard to have the patience. :pensive:

While more actual, meaningful content, like an Act 6 is nice, I doubt it is within the scopes of D2R. Not even an expansion is within the scope of D2R.

This is fine. While I would hope that they don’t decide to constantly change balance season by season in a major way ala Diablo 3, there are still a few skills that could be updated (melee), some set bonus adjustments, unique item adjustments, runeword adjustments, minor mercenary adjustments that could drip into the game over a long period of time.

For endgame, new uber bosses would be neat and make sense, as long as they can be soloed or done with meaningful group play where all players can feel a meaningful accomplishment unlike how the current Ubers pretty much reward only solo play, especially by cheesing (I mean, we’re all guilty of an Uber Smiter for ez win). Someone mentioned Uber Cows, that’d be pretty neat. Dunno if I’d be crazy about them having random immunities and thus invalidating the idea of solo viable, but it’d be neat none the less.

Updating elements of the game to promote better group play is something I’d love to see, stack currency tab, updates to exp gain, etc. Simple stuff that doesn’t involve elaborate nonsense or just ramming something into the game just to change it.

The devs mentioned last year about having some ideas themselves. I’d love to see what they can bring to the table, as professional game developers, while sticking to the pillars of being and feeling like Diablo 2, and not some hacked version where anything goes. While I’m getting impatient now for this season to be over, I’d like to think that the suspense will be worth it once they begin revealing Season 2.

currency tab? are you gonna put millions of gold in it?

The community has been asking for a tab where stacked gems, runes, uber parts can be placed. This was even mentioned during the Llama livestream with the devs back in December with the 2.4 announcement.

I wish we had a use for Standard of Heroes. Like, if you hit level 90 and put 3 of them in a cube then you could open a new zone that had higher than normal monster density, but the monsters also had an additional affix ontop of their hell affixes. This means you could get a tri-res immune mob or a mob with multiple auras at once. Fanc/Sanc.

Make it a highly difficult area to clear solo but reward the player with making it a level 86 zone.

Currency tab remains the worst thing the community can ask for

Currency tab <<<<<<<<<< stacking everywhere

They could do some more side events. The uber diablo and pandemonium activities were added very late in the game.

They don’t need to add new areas or anything like that. But they could add special things like uber/pandy that require some sort of sidequest.

Aside from maybe potions, what else really needs stacking besides the gems/runes that doesn’t already have it?
