It is time to add a cooldown to Teleport

No. If you remove Teleport, or put a cooldown on it like D3, you essentially destroy what makes the Sorceress unique and fun to play. Increasing mana cost really does nothing when you have Insight; except maybe at lower levels a couple of less teleports before you wait for Insight to bring your mana back.

The core problem is Enigma. However, Enigma is a recognizable part of the game, and nerfing it would change too much. If this was a patch or two down the line from when it was first introduced, that would be fine. Dueling at high level can just ban non Sorc Teleport, or ban it outright, as mentioned earlier. Enigma should have never been introduced in the first place, but now that it has been part of the game for almost 2 decades, it should stay part of the game. They can nerf OP damages and bring up underperforming damages and abilities, as long as they don’t touch the core functions of each class; Teleport is a core function of Sorc.

d2 is not a competitive pvp game though it has pvp in it because sure why not but it doesn’t have any dedicated pvp modes or zones nor does it have an official league or tournament.

I agree it is not competitive by design, but blizzard had made some specific PvP changes several times already even in D2:LoD, so they definitely see it as part of the game at least.

Teleport is the best skill in the game of course, adding a small cool down to it would still make it the best skill in the game, but tone it down a bit.

I agree leave teleport and leave enigma, it has been made into a core item now, however teleport being spammable like it is today is, coupled with some of the changes, and the more changes that are coming, won’t be sustainable long term.

What are your personal reasons for this suggestion. Do you play sorc? What is your playstyle.

Is it more a thing of beaing frustrated about other players or do you have some personal gameplay issues.

im REALLY banking on him being salty about a sorc he couldnt beat. im also feeling its true more and more because he keeps evading my jabs at that scenario.

I play sorceress too, my reason for suggesting this, is mostly that in PvP you can now play defensively and turtle forever, with zero consequences, it is just too easy this way.

In PvE well with ultra widescreen you can ignore pretty much all monsters, it is faster than in D2:LoD, makes it boring

Not at all, I play sorc as well, more like bored of teleporting around defensively, only dieing if I want to die basically, otherwise it is just a long match that I am guaranteed to win eventually.

I see. But adding a cooldown would slow down the whole gameplay. Why did they modify the FHR in the first place?

then stop teleporting around defensively…

but the other player can teleport also…

i’m bored of leveling new characters always we should nerf the experience needed to level

also bored of having to re gear up every ladder blizzard need to just give me full sets of end game gear at ladder start

There’s no reason not to, and that’s the core issue, unless you like to die.

so then were in agreeance that a cooldown would cause you to die and therefor is a bad idea. good.

No thanks. And Blizzard says no hence why there is no CD. Move on.

We are in agreement it would cause you to die, yes. Dieing is part of the game, it is too easy currently

They have said no so far… 2.4 proves they are willing to make core changes

core changes that make the game better, not worse.

Yeah? go HC and try it. Teleporting is pretty dangerous. People on HC baalruns with sorcereses are often pretty scared to teleport. Because its easy to die.

Which is why when advancing down the unbeaten path, I stagger my teleports with a bit of running so I can get a good eagle eye on where I can teleport next. This is especially true when running a glassy gear setup with an already squishy Sorceress.

That’s just silly. It would be exactly the same, just annoying. Who wants the game to be annoying? That’s just weird.

It’s a casino game. Nothing forces you to TP. If you don’t like it, don’t play sorc or equip enigma. It’s that easy.
