Taking off war travs for MF would be especially bizarre
Haha I meant treks, I’ll edit!
Fair enough. I agree with your post btw, that part just made me chuckle a bit
Correct here. If you are specifically farming for bases, having ANY MF gear on at all lowers your odds you’ll get raw bases as they may roll magic+. I have a javazon SPECIFICALLY for cow runs that has 0 magic find on her to just farm bases, charms, and of course hope to get some high runes as well.
That’s going to happen with or without the magic find, but of course more Magic Find gives you a better shot at the item IF it rolls magic+, to be a unique or set item. D2 can be very feast / famine at times when it comes to magic find.
Please also remember that “good” uniques are relative to your current gear level. When you’re first starting out, a lot of drops will be good upgrades for you. As you get closer and closer to your meta build, the less most drops will improve your build / less drops you need to complete your build, so of course the patches of “dry spells” as it were will seem longer.
I’ve done dozens of cow runs where I’m hoping to get high runes only to find Ort after Ort dropping. Does that mean rune drops are broken? Nope. I’m getting runes to drop – they are just not rolling in the high rune roll chance. You do have to keep these things in mind when you go thru the invariable bad patches of drop dry spells.
I’m sorry, but this is flat out wrong. I mean maybe it’s written into the code that way, but they missed an end cap or a loop command, because all my druid can ever find are bows, and sigons. All my necro can find are jav gear, sigons, and sorc skill items, all my trapzin finds is pally gear.
Nothing about the drops in this game are tailored to your specific character. That would be d3, if anything.
95% of the drops in this game are trash to the client.
It is a nice spot to be at! You are on a luck streak though that is all.
200-400 MF is perfect, any more you usually sacrifice killing speed which is not worth it. Only reason to stack over 400 is if your running bosses only, or certain builds that can still kill very fast with high MF. The % to find a unique goes up constantly but at a diminishing rate after 200 and more so after 400.
