Im am kind of jealous

I loved the Lion King. What do you think about the new upcoming Snow White remake?

I don’t recognize the current Disney from what I grew up with. :pensive:

lion king is still the best hand drawn animated movie of all time and will probably never be dethroned from that. and even to this day its is arguably one of the best animated movies as well.

i… didnt even know they were making a new snow white…

the original one was soo bad

most of they “really” old Disney movies were terrible

pinnochio, snow white, cinderella. dumbo, alice in wonderland, jungle book

outside of fantasia. it wasnt until the 50’s they started being actually good.

i wouildnt say disney has gotten worse though. its still way better than they started out as

zootopia was freaking amazing, raya was also really good… even things like tangled, and dare i say it. “frozen” were good.

and the live action remakes of jungle book and beauty and the beast are way better then the orginals.

I just feel like today’s game industry we are beta testers for unfinished products. Sadly, generally speaking, we have accepted that when we buy a modern online game it will not be working properly upon release. This is an industry-wide problem. No longer do games come out fully developed since we have “always online” patching options. I read about developers fearing that games like Elden ring and Baldur’s gate should be considered anomalies and should not be seen as the standard for their genre moving forward. Some complain that we the consumers are going to expect the same level of effort for future games. Nope, some of us expect an even higher level of effort.

Companies like Blizzard need to be careful with their IP’s. When you have a brand that is so good, you can make a poor product and it will sell, because of its name. Look at D3, overwatch 2, Warcraft III: Reforged or Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet, huge resources and backing, but the release was not as good as its predecessors.

We are now entering a time with predatory micro transactions, and I hesitate to call them “Micro”, some of these skins are as expensive as a full priced game! I don’t think any cosmetic should cost more than $5 if it wants to be called Micro.

I think you guys deserve better.

Have you seen this video? I think Baldurs Gate 3’s success and Diablo 4’s failure are causing the tides to turn. Blizzard won’t be allowed to continue releasing garbage after D4.

First I heart your post, then I read  Yes, I got a lot of my thoughts from this content creator. He has a lot of good videos.

I can’t control what other people do, nor do I want to. At this point in my life, I will simply wait for blizzard games to come out and if they do well, I will partake in them after several patches have been released. I trust this community to beta test their new games to have them polished. The D2r forum, is full of very experienced players and some grinding addicts like myself

I just don’t have the same amount of time or interest in beta testing new games. When I was younger, I did, and I enjoyed being a part of the “history of a game”. I have a few friends here, some of which I completely disagree with every point they make :joy: but they seem to be good people and I respect their opinions, because they want what’s best for this game. I also enjoy conversing with them to find common ground. I am just sad to see how companies’ greed is showing off with no shame.

this and the ivdeo nickie listed are 100% correct.

i played i played d2 all the way back in high school shortly after LOD launched

not all companies do this either.

take a look at Insomniac Games.

not only do they release amazing polished games on day 1, they treat their employees properly and don’t allow any crunch.

im glad there are at least some companies willing to do the right thing.

but blizzard hasn’t been one for those for well over 10 years

Also check out ActMan’s recent video: Diablo 4 Somehow Got WORSE… And So Did Blizzard

He’s doubling down on Blizzard and is genuinely pissed off at them, which any passionate Diablo fan should be. Videos of this magnitude have never happened to Blizzard before so i’m curious how this will play out in the long run.

I would like to add Nintendo to that list

I saw that one as well. I loved the “What on God’s green earth” followed by Windows Bliss Sonoma County green grass desktop background. Woopy needs her refund to deal with all her lawsuits  Season passes give 666 points, I bet Microsoft won’t like that! It’s shameless I tells ya! :joy:

You know if Raxx made a detailed list like he did for D3 but for D2 and gathered all the communities wishlists, perhaps Blizzard Devs will listen? Wishful thinking.

i wouldn’t say nintendo as a whole does this, but certainly some of their first party studios do

monolith soft who makes the xenoblade series does amazing
and whoever makes the zelda games ( which i know monolith soft helps with)

but i mean while GF and pokemon game did for a time, for the most part the mainline switch pokemon games have not exactly been great releases to say the least

Back 20 to 30 years ago, $60 for a major game went a lot further than it does today. Major game releases are still roughly about the same price. That means they had the extra money back then to spend on game testers.

Then all of the mergers happened, under the umbrella of greedy CEOs, looking to line their pockets. They found ways to cut corners, including not paying for 3rd party game testers. They also discovered that the players themselves are more than willing to test their games for freeSince most of them had broadband connections, there was the delivery method. There’s no longer the need to spend money mass producing game boxes, install disks, manuals and other memorabilia. (outside of a small amount for those who want to pay for a vastly overpriced “collectors edition”)

And here we are today… More games get created, more people spend money on games, the price of games stayed the same, play testing dropped in quality, and unfinished games get released for further testing until it’s finally polished 3-5 years after release.

And the CEOs are all rolling in the dough because of it.

I like the idea of SSF to legitimize the ladder race. It should be a free for all of players scratching and clawing their way to the top. Of the people who care, nobody really feels great about streamers being spoon fed the win.

all i see is another person who gave blizzard money and now are mad. another idiot. lol. sigh… the only people who should be allowed to complain about it at this point, are people who didn’t buy it.

What about people that refunded in protest?

nothing changes. streamers get paid to play the game. the only person that can compete with a streamer is a bum.

D4 is their cash cow, they likely want to pretend D2 doesn’t exist because they know it highlights the gap between their current team, and their OG team. It’s really hard to acknowledge D2 existing without it being an example of D4’s flaws.
