If no changes are made I predict nothing good

I hope they haven’t abandoned the game already.

You mean like when Blizzard North added Iron Maiden as a curse in Chaos Sanctuary and basically ruined chaos sanctuary for anyone playing a physical dmg build?
Or when Activision removed that stupid mistake?

I find it interesting that in the current version they now cast lower res. I’m not complaining, I feel they should keep it. But there’s all these little changes that went completely undocumented.

They changed it a while ago in OG D2, but the people who moved on from the game after it was abandoned by activision to make D3 just didn’t know it was fixed.

Classic gameplay—the same Diablo II you know and love, preserved.

None of the changes they made have changed the core game.

  • Secret Cow Level had a workaround
  • Pindleskin Portal had a workaround
  • Muling had a workaround
  • Etc. had a workaround

K?Thanks!

They wont be making any changes to core gameplay mechanics. hell I’d be surprised if they add anything to the game it was marketed as a remaster not a remake. You bought a remaster thinking it was a remake your going to be disappointed.

That’s the first changes made in the very first version of the remastered game.

You weren’t around when they polled players about what changes they wanted were you? I can tell you’re going to be very surprised about what they’re most likely working on right now lol

Doubt it. this is a cash grab to hold them over till D4 nothing more nothing less.

I’d rather keep the game how it is, outside of minor quality of life updates, character balancing and bug fixing. The (original) game has been completed for quite some time. Adding additional content will only tarnish Diablo 2/LoD’s legacy. I’d rather play this game for what it is supposed to represent: A remaster of Diablo 2.

I’m looking forward to new features in D4.

Oh is that a fact? Then why have they hired a team to work on it? Why is Vicarious still working on D2R?

Things we may see:

  • Class Rebalance (very unlikely)
  • New Rune Words (likely with a new Ladder)
  • New Uber event (or changes on how Uber Diablo is spawned)
  • Continued bug fixes
  • More Character Slots/Stash Tabs
  • Stackable Runes/ Gems (unlikely)
  • More cube recipes/crafting (unlikely)

What we will not see:

  • personal loot (or any loot changes)
  • new acts
  • immunities removed
  • ability to kick players (vote to kick)
  • changes to PKing
  • changes to core game mechanics
  • changes to gold
  • etc.

Bug fixes, exploit fixes, the server code is almost a middle aged man thats tired. you know behind the curtain things that need to be addressed. They are not going to change core mechanics this was marketed as a remaster not a remake.

You might want to look at those polls again. The vast majority voted for some pretty big changes.

Hopefully they have some seasonal themes to ladder to keep it fresh. Infact i believe they will as it seem to be a popular thing. Atm there be no difference between non ladder and ladder so it would make sense. A New act and such i doubt as they only release this to satisfy ppl until d4 is released and to calm down the haters who rage about DI is a mobile game.

Keep in mind that polls sample was ~5k respondents, which is vastly smaller than the whole player base. There’s a lot of room for bias.

I don’t need to look at any polls, but hey, keep believing whatever you want…

5k people is hardly a vast majority of the player base.

5000 people is what any scientist would call a very reliable “study”
