Trav not relevant ? what are you talking about ? Trav is by far one of the best place to farm High rune … usually 1 on 200 runs… Yet you discard it ? and river is quickly skipped with teleport … need about 5 sec to skip it.
I’m literally discussing this area because of how simple it is to farm and get to early ladder. We all know travincal/CS/Cows are great HR areas, that’s without question, the whole point is that this area is much easier to get to with any char.
Exactly, with teleport. That’s what makes the new A85 so ridiculous, it’s easily farmed and you don’t need tele. Because there are no physical/cold immunes there, it makes many more viable walk builds than were in the game, making it far easier/ less necessary to create more than one char.
It’s meta breaking, which is fine if you like that sort of thing- but I wanted a remaster, not a new meta.
And ? What bad about it ? having more area 85 just mean more place to farm … To be honest hell should be 85 + everywhere so we could farm wherever we want … maybe except cows for the density. LK Chest, trav will probably still be my main way to go as they always paid off.
They are quite high physical resistant and small maggots are hell to fight for some melee builds. If we talk about arachnid lair. Forget Swampy it, nobody will go there to fight dolls and souls.
we’ll see you next year when 2.4 is announced to release
His argumentation really dont make much sense because melee character able to clear Arachnid Lair or Swampy pit, can obviously also clear worldstone keep and it has WP direcetly in it. It always had.
Its just saltiness that game is getting important changes which he doesnt like as purist no matter if change is improving the game and helping to balance things.
I will probably still prefer Ancinet tunnels with cold sorc as there is space to move around and its not that limiting as arachnid Lair.
They could rebalance uniques with more relevant stats according to their rarity/base to not make 90% of them insta-trash and OP would complain game’s got easier because now when a unique drops there’s a good chance you can use it in solo self-found.
As if D2 was ever a hard game, lmao?
Powercreeping is a thing with 2.4 changes, sure, though I wished since OG D2 there would be another 4th difficulty
Buffing throw barb and other horribly underpowered builds doesn’t make the game easier, it makes it more accessible, especially when said builds aren’t even stronger than the top 5 currently best builds.
Also, the new m85 areas aren’t making the game easier. It’s catching up non-pally and non-sorc classes that are very far behind in terms of output and efficency. It’s not like finding and farming Pindleskin and Pit are difficult.
Pretty sure hammerdins being meta for 20 years is ez mode. Nice try though.
Please tell me, why is a hammerdin with dual spirit, stealth, lore and a teleport staff allowed to efficiently farm CS on day 1 of a ladder, but other classes shouldn’t be allowed to farm TC85 early on? Your arguments make no sense, unless you want hammerdins (and sorcs) nerfed aswell.
It should be meta breaking. You shouldn’t be forced to play a sorceress in order to mf efficiently. Teleport shouldn’t be so OP. Glad to see non-sorc chars get some love. Maybe we’ll see some variety in characters during the reset for once.
The purpose of putting some 85 areas right off a wp is to lessen the reliance on teleport characters and increase the character usage diversity on bnet. This isnt rocket science my guy
They changed it so that you cannot skip the quests in Act 3… That made it harder…
He ignores that because it doesnt fit to his narrative.
Necro also didn’t really get changed much… I think if OP thinks other classes got buffed too much and are too easy, maybe they will like Necro?
Barb didn’t change much either if you don’t consider warcry or double throw…
Pure hammerdin is still basically the same…
Blizz sorc is also the same, except you can cast frost orb too now if you want…
Not a lot changed really, dunno why the OP is making so much fuss… Too many trolls in this forum…
easy farming for any class opposed to a select few?
A lot of ilvl 85 areas are easy to locate.
I found that trading makes the game easier. As a hardcore player different 85 areas makes the game harder because some areas in act3 are already deadly not they will be even more deadly lol
They should have made nerds to a lot of stuff instead. But any more changes and we will see runaway power creep.
I stopped reading about halfway through.
Because all I was reading was this.
"I play like a bot, and so does everyone else. And now we get to be even more boring with less effort. "
I’ve got an idea to make you “play” the game. An ever increasing tab on both where you start playing from, how long you play for, and how much of each area you are clearing on the way. The more you do of each the more rewarding the run starts to become.
So someone playing from Act 1 all the way to Act 5, clearing every last dungeon and killing every last monster can expect to see a worthwhile HR dropping before the end of that, instead of picking up their one-hundredth bersker helmet.
THAT DOES NOT HAPPEN.
Because you’ve opted to encourage people to play like bots instead.
Make the game discourage making 1 minute games of teleport to spot and cheese. Rinse and repeat. Making more lvl 85 areas isn’t the problem. It’s you the player. And it takes positive reinforcement to make you change your habits. That positive reinforcement would be what I just described about an ever increasing drop rate on HR and higher tier equipment based on a Total Completion run in progress.
In other words, the difference between running the previous lvl85 areas, and the new ones, is insignificant, because they are both still boring and without soul, the kind of stuff bots do.
Making those monsters lvl85 essencially makes them harder bc of AR and charlvl
