I can't play normally

I reinstalled D2R, and now I’m getting intermittent errors that kick me out of the game as soon as I join. When I try to re-enter, it shows “INTERNAL GameDetail - RPC ERROR.” This is really frustrating and makes the game unplayable. It happens in both ROTW and LoD, so I can’t play properly in either mode.

I’m going to try reinstalling the game again. If anyone knows how to fix this error, I’d really appreciate your help.

Couple things you can try if the repair/reinstall didn’t work:

In the Battle.net launcher, click the Cogwheel icon (Settings) next to the Play button.

  1. Select Game Settings.

  2. Check the box that says Additional command line arguments.

  3. In the empty text box that appears, paste exactly one of these server arguments (pick one that is not your current native region):

    • For Europe: -address eu.actual.battle.net

    • For Americas: -address us.actual.battle.net

    • Click Done and launch the game.

Once you log in and successfully load past the main menu into the lobby screen, exit the game, head back to Game Settings, uncheck the box to delete the argument, and launch normally. This resets the stuck character handshake on Blizzard’s master server.

Or

If the RPC error persists, your local Windows network cache is likely clinging to a broken server route from your previous installation.

  1. Press the Windows Key, type cmd, right-click Command Prompt, and select Run as Administrator.

  2. Type ipconfig /flushdns and press Enter.

  3. Type ipconfig /release and press Enter.

  4. Type ipconfig /renew and press Enter.

  5. Restart Battle.net and launch the game.
