So I want to kill Baal in hell with my hammerdin but he spawns minions that have magic immunity. Usualy I let my merc handel that but he is not strong enough. My hammers deal about 4000 dmg but I have a wizardspike dagger that doesnt make a dent with physical dmg. I need that dagger for resistance and fcr. If I dont have resistance im dead realy fast. How do I get past them so I can show Baal my hammers?
Yep, the 2nd wave is nasty for pure Hammerdins.
Make your merc stronger so he can poke bigger holes in the greater mummies. An elite polearm of some kind at least, Treachery runeword armor with a strong life-leach helm. (Andareals Visage, Crown of Thieves, Tal Rasha’s Mask) Keep the hammers spinning to keep the skeletons dead. Use cleansing aura to reduce Baals decrepify curse on you merc so he attacks faster than one time every 5 seconds.
Get your merc to do a bit damage and give him “cannot be frozen”
Thanks I’ll try that
just run and lure them away lol
Greater mummies are stupid slow at giving chase.
what i use to do was cycle auras concentration/clensing/fanta till he killed them all
@OP: Duriel’s Shell, it’s a relatively common exceptional unique armor, a great starter armor for mercs, so it should be cheap to trade for one if you don’t want to grind for one.
holy bolt may help. it also does some damage against magic immunes
1 point wonder holy bolt
Merc dmg and holy bolt.
holy bolt… and merc gg
I run merc + smite stuff in my off-hand (black or grief) when running magic immune areas.
lol dude use holy bolt rofl… you do not want to be taking this long hahahha
This was my first Baal kill like 3 weeks after D2R release at level 84 with LOL gear. 1 point on Holy Bolt has LOL damage like 1 point Smite. But Smite prevents Boss/Mob to cast a spell. I prefer Smite over Holy Bolt. And nope, I will never put more points on Holy Bolt as a Hammerdin. Most of the Damage to Immunes are from the Merc.
Thanks, that’s actualy very helpfull. As I am now a level 84 hammerdin and I almost level up so I can just spent 1 point instead of changing a lot.
I didn’t think of it before, but if you use the Sanctuary aura while spinning your hammers, it removes all immunities and physical resistances from undead enemies. If you one-point the aura, depending on your +skill items, you might have to get close or even right in the middle for the radius to take hold of everything.
